We made it back just in time to celebrate the weekend with dad on the lake. He was pretty glad to see these girls back as he had missed them like crazy while they were gone. We went to the Farmer's market for a little stroll and then spent the rest of the day on the lake with friends.
AB and EllisThat night we got back to town just in time to make it for some neighborhood fun. The Whitlock's had a water park in their backyard and the kids never quit. They were so tired by the time we left that night they went straight to bed. My kind of weekend!
Just a few pics of these cuites after church the next day. I seem to never take pictures when they are all dressed up so we had proof they actually didn't live in swimsuits all summer.
The next Monday was a day I had dreaded for some time. Mrs. Twyla's last day. She has been my right hand for almost the past 5 years now and she retired that day. She has still continued to come check on us but I am thrilled she now gets to spend time with her family. We had to take a little advancement office photo before she left. I didn't post any pictures of the retirement party but let's just say we got her pretty good with the décor and a few surprises. One being her son in Seattle skyping in for the party. I will miss her dearly but so thankful for the many years of service she gave to our office and what a huge help she was to me being new to a college campus.
That same week AB spent with Unity Baptist at camp. These kids had a great time by the looks of the pictures that they kept sending me. Just a few of my favorites.
And then that Thursday they spent the day with Nana in Arkadelphia where they got quite a treat. They were able to tour the backstage dressing department of OBU. They had a display of costumes past and present at the local arts station and my mother's friend Mrs. Carolyn took them on a tour. Here they are doing their best dancer impressions.
And then I picked them up and we headed out for one of our final weekends on the lake. This time we were lucky enough to get some cousin time with these two cuties!!
Our new mat that we got for the lake turned out to be quite the hit that day.
The next week the kids were so excited to have friends come over from out of town. They hung out with their grandmother through the day and with us that evening. Here are a few pics...mind you dad was in charge at this time I was still at work. Trampoline, in the rain and with a couple of bars of soap always makes for a good time.
Action shot
And their grandmother is always great to tackle crafts with the kids and this time was no exception they made their very own volcano that erupted!
That night we treated ourselves to a pre watermelon festival pedi...when in Hope right?!!
And then the next day another last day that I didn't want to see coming...Miss Aimee's last day with the girls EVER!! NO not just for the summer as she has recently gotten engaged she will be a married girl come next summer so we will be a hot mess without her. She has watched these two girls grow up and kept them every summer for the past 5 plus years. It is so weird to know that the end of an era is happening not only Aimee leaving but these girls getting so old. Aimee has been such a blessing in crunch times for me during the summer getting these girls to all their camps and activities I really couldn't have done it without her. She will be greatly missed but we are sooo super excited to watch her marry the man of her dreams next summer!
And just like that summer is coming to a close... but not before one last bit of fun at the festival.
