Nutcracker 2017..My little Candy Cane!

Nutcracker performance is finally here after all the weeks of practicing this girl is ready!  My little Candy Cane is going to dance her heart out on that stage.  And the whole family is lined up to come watch...

Friday nights performance and G, Dad and little sis were out there cheering her on!

And on Saturday for the afternoon show my whole family came down.  The girls were so excited for her.  I had purchased her a few keepsakes to remember this year by...one an ornament handmade with her name, year and a dancing candy cane and
her very own candy cane Nutcracker!

That night at the performance AB went around delivering our gifts for the girls in her scene.  We got them there very own candy cane ornaments, this is a tradition among the mom's not something I did on my own...just saying!
My cute little buddy...she came to every performance which I thought would be too much for her but she ended up staying downstairs with all the big girls and loved every second of it.  She went around getting autographs and posing for pictures.
Nana and Pop and their fan club.

The Hope girls reunited...

And on Sunday Bobo and Sheshe came to watch our girl.

And in our spare time between performances we managed to find the big guy himself, just to make sure he knew exactly what these two wanted this year...and how good they had been, at least most of the time.
The next week I helped a bit at the end of the Christmas parade in town and the girls got to see Santa once again just in case they forgot anything the first time around.

Our silly little elves are always up to something...this time they really got all tied up in the fireplace.
That week at school AB had a Christmas program where she had a few lines and the kids all did a great job singing and bringing on that Christmas cheer.

Unfortunately B's class didn't have a program this year but she was right there singing along.
Now on to more Christmas festivities...

Thanksgiving 2017!

The girls and I started off the week in LR with cousins.  We hit the movies one night to see Wonder...highly recommended!!

The next day we spent shopping in the heights and "girl" lunchin at one of my favorites...Scallions.
That night we returned to Hot Springs to hang out with our friends from Chicago who happened to be in town.  These two are like peas in a pod!

We came back home on that Wednesday before Thanksgiving to hang out with our cousins and prepare those delicious treats.
Thanksgiving morning we follow the same tradition every year...get up, turn on Macy's parade and bring on the hot chocolate.  This year we just had an extra guest who wanted to join in.

She is all about these two girls and wants right in the middle of everything they do.
We turned off the parade and headed out for some yummy food with the Bobos.
The Webster family hosted us and Katie Ella showed the girls her newest addition.
The whole clan..well, minus a few
The cutest and most handsome cousins around!
And just like that the moment was over..he made a run for it.
We left their house just in time to make it to the Powell side as lunch was being served.  We were all starving and the food did not disappoint as you can tell by B's full cheeks.

Then afterwards we were able to celebrate Pop's birthday.  It just so happened to fall on Thanksgiving day this year so we turned the celebration into a bday party as well!
Then the kids all headed outside for some fun

A bunch of cute little monkeys.

Nicki and Pop with the whole crew

We found this cool décor on the side of the road...how awesome is this!

We headed back up to the lake as soon as we were finished filling our bellies and we got some surprise guests.  The cousins came to spend the night and since it was such a beautiful day this little had the girls fishing in no time.

He is good...he even got Uncle Mitch out there on a ballgame day.
The next evening we met up with my whole family for Garvin Gardens.  My 1st cousin from Pennsylvania and her family were in town renting a condo so it was a great place for us all to enjoy the sights and catch up a bit.

B caught a lift with Pop

Terrible photo but you get the idea.

The cousins spent the night and so the girls pulled everyone in the next day and this time with minnows...unfortunately the noise level on the dock must have scared them all away!
My cousin Kelly with all the girls...it had been so long since we had seen each other so I was glad we all got to be together for the evening.
The girls had a salad making completion all the shoreline and these were the two entries..creative oh yes!

And then before we knew it the week was over and we were headed back to school but at least we had a few new visitors to keep us company.
