Dance Recital

Addie Blaire's dance recital was a couple of weeks ago. This was her second year to take dance with Mrs. Angie and she had such a good year and a great group of girls to dance with too. The recital was in Prescott at the high school there. Mitch, Britann and I were joined by Nana and Pop, Bobo, and Nicki and Pop to watch our sweet girl do her thang!! She did a great job, although I could tell all night that she just wasn't her naturally bubbly self so I wondered what was going on. She seemed a little distracted and tired, well come to find out later that night I checked her temperature and sure enough she had 102!! I felt so bad that she had endured all these pictures and all the dancing when she was sick. That is just how special this girl is, I definitely take no credit for this child I think her daddy has a lot to do with her laid back sweet personality and this is just one example of how she never lets on to not being at her best or whiny she just kept doing her thing. I then must say that my whole opinion changed and I realized under the circumstances she did way better than I would have even at my age so what a little trooper she is!! I am so proud of you Addie Blaire!! You will always be our "tiny" dancer.

Addie Blaire and Haley (and yes mom did let her wear a little lipstick!!) she loved it!

Daddy and all his girls (by the way not sure what is going on with my shoulder, I could seriously hurt somebody with that thing!)

Addie blaire and her cousin Lily.

This is what happens when mom asks her to open her eyes wide, we get the mouth instead!! That or maybe this is the point when she has had enough with the pictures.

"Celebrate good times" these girls certainly did to that very song!

Brit loved watching her big sis up on stage she was dancing in Nana's lap the whole time and downing that bottle at the same time (or else she would have been singing along too!)
Each child got to go on stage and be announced, wave and blow kisses. They were all sooo cute!
Addie and cousin Katie Ella who came to watch her.

Daddy giving Addie some flowers, Pop and Bobo even had some for her too!! She loved that part best (for future reference boys this girl loves some flowers!!)

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the Memorial day weekend on the lake and the girls got plenty of boat time. This was Brit Brit first time on the lake and she did a great job. She napped, she ate, she napped and she ate a little more. The kiddos got a chance to to do some tubing and we even got to eat some craw fish (or at least everyone else did) at the annual craw fish broil.

Britann watching big sis and cuz show their skills on the tube.Mason and Addie Blaire tubing on the new tube the Easter bunny brought Bobo. I don't know if you can tell in this picture but we taught the kids the ole thumbs up or thumbs down thing in regards to speed up or down. Well Mason seemed to get it but Addie preferred to use her index finger like in this picture. It was pretty darn cute!Hanging out on the boat, by the way I love my new hat thanks to the Woodruff's and Bud! You guys in such a unique and endearing way have brought so much attention to such a worthwhile cause!

Just in case anyone wants to call me out on this yes she was technically wearing her life jacket. I just adjusted it for the picture (I know you will say something mom) so I thought I should just go ahead and throw that out there.

Mitch had this picture on his phone of Brit one day after she woke up from her nap and was just sitting in her crib. Just couldn't resist posting this of my big little girl. She is doing so well with sitting up and is even (at almost 9 months) trying to crawl. She is talking all the time and some of it is actually making sounds. I know she has said Momma and Dadda both and she has definitely said "hi" but not so much in response to either of us just out of the blue. I can't wait for the day that she looks at me and says it because I know it is coming very soon! Just a quick update because I know that I haven't done the best job with that. She went to the doctor at about 8 months and she weighed 17 lbs. She smiles all the time!! She has a little smile that just lights up her whole face. I have been trying to video that smile as often as I can because it makes my day every time i see it. She loves her big sister and the best sure fire way to get her giggling is to have Addie walk into the room and just start dancing and being silly. She loves that girl! I know that the interaction between the two of them will only get better, but for now just the little moments of seeing her kiss Brit on the head or curl up next to her on the bed are enough to make me feel so happy and content.

Mother's day

We spent mother's day this year with my grandmother in Magnolia. She was so glad to have us come to visit her there. My mom and dad went with us because they had come down the night before while Mitch was out of town. Mom had bought the girls these outfits so I couldn't resist trying them on for her. Good thing cause these girls are about to grow out of them!
Britann with her great grandmother Bass. We love you grandma!

Four generations of Bass women. Pretty cool to be able to sit on my grandmother's porch where I spent many years hanging out with my grandparents and having my children there now, just shows how much time may pass but some things still stay the same.

This is just a picture of Britann trying out her big sis's old chair.

Tabitha and I took the girls to see Beauty and the Beast a few weeks back and the girls loved it!! I think it may have been a little long but they still seemed interested. I must say I was impressed I had seen it on Broadway and this production was just as good as that one was. I think all the sets that they use are so awesome and Addie really loved "Chip" being a real boy and all. It was great to see her reaction to all the characters and songs since she knows them all by heart now.

Katie Ella and Lydia met us there too, the girls all got to sit together so it worked out really well.

Little Brit Brit at cousin's Mason's birthday party.

This party was Addie Blaire's first time to bowl so Mitch did his best to try to teach her. I think we still have a way's to go on that one.

I had to attach these pictures that Mitch's sweet grandmother sent me the other day. Nicki as we all call her is a great little photographer and she and Pop are the sweetest people in the world. She had a stroke a few years back and it has affected her speech and has given her several other issues with vision and hearing as well. I know for some this would be a hard thing to endure but she has kept on rolling with the punches life as thrown her and she has never given up on the things she enjoys and luckily for me one of those is taking pictures of her sweet grands. She is the best at capturing moments that I would never think to take pictures of but that really show the interactions between myself and my kiddos. I just think sometimes I am so busy trying to make sure we get this perfect picture that I forget it is the moments that just happen every day that are the most precious! (Meredith: if you are reading this I would like to count this as one of those lessons learned through the example that your life has become to me and my family. I will take each day and appreciate all the big and small things that life has to offer.)

Addie Blaire and Grif get married!

Addie Blaire was in her first wedding a few weeks back and I was so excited that Jesse and Jordan asked her to be a part of their special day. She was in my sister's wedding about the time she turned one so I am going out on a limb her but I doubt she remembers much of that, even though it was wonderful Aunt T. I was not sure up until the last minute how she was going to respond but she did awesome especially considering she had been sick earlier in the week with a fever. She and Grif were too cute together. They did so well posing for pictures, well with a little help from the cake table and some mints! But what was the funniest part was Griffin. He insisted whenever someone said something about Jordan and Jesse that he and Addie were the one's getting married. I am telling you he would not hear of it otherwise. But the best part of that whole story was to hear his sweet little voice say that he and Addie were getting married and going to "Heweii"!!! It was the sweetest funniest thing!! Too cute but we have to wait a few years according to dad..
I just love this one they both luck so suspicious.

Jordan looked just beautiful.

I wasn't sure how Addie would do with the posed pictures because goodness knows she doesn't do it for me, but it was amazing how well those mints worked, I think I may have to go get some to save for later.

She did such a good job she stayed up there through the whole ceremony!! The funny thing was when she got to the end of the aisle she still had some petals left, so in the ways of her Type A mother she stood there in her spot and kept throwing the petals until there was absolutely none left!
