Christmas 2010!

Well I debated on the title for this post because it should actually be the whole month of December. I have been working on this post and just saving it for a couple of days so it wasn't til I posted the last few pictures this afternoon that I realized what an incredibly long post I had going. I guess that each time I added some I had good reason but know it makes for one really long read. Well for most people at least unless of course you are my mom you probably don't read all the silly things I write anyways. Which is a good thing of course because with the lack of sleep (Brit has her 1st of many ear infection!) I probably just bore you with my ramblings anyways. We had a great Christmas season this year and the kids were so much fun. Addie Blaire really got into the gifts this year. She watched every commercial known to man and I think wanted everything they advertised, even the boy stuff! However when it was all said and done and she had a talk with the big jolly guy she narrowed it down to these three things!

"Dear Santa, I would like a Barbie doll house, the elephant game and hungry hungry hippos!! " She made sure on our visit to see him that he knew exactly what she wanted too. She was such a good girl and sat right down in his lap, of course it probably helped that he was already holding baby sister and she seemed to be doing okay. The "real" Santa unfortunately for those that don't live near by is in Texarkana. He is the real deal and even made sure to have a long talk with Addie about exactly what mommy means by 1, 2, 3 and don't think she hasn't forgotten what he said. She reminds me all the time!!

My mom came to stay with us and we had such a good time. My babysitters were off the two weeks at Christmas so I had to do a little working so thankfully mom helped me out with the kiddos. Addie and I made the coolest gingerbread
house. But it is funny how it kept changing in the days after, somehow it became a little less decorated as the days passed by, I wonder why?

Britann turned 3 months on the 20th!! Here she is for the monthly picture. I have to say she is doing so much better this month. She is sleeping through the night. She goes to bed about 8 or 9 and sleeps til close to 7 every morning. She does get a little help in the early hours by cuddling in bed with mommy til the alarm goes off but other than that she is on her own . We are still letting her sleep in the pack and play in our room, I'm not quite ready for her to move on yet. She is doing such a good job starting to keep her head up and she is smiling nearly all the time when she is not hungry or tired that is!! She is taking about 41/2 ounces to 5 every three to four hours a day now about 5 times a day. She is up to almost 12 lbs and not sure til next month on height. She is just starting to "coo" now too! She is loving her big sister and watches her every move she makes. I can tell how much she is going to love being around her when she can get up and go. She is still loving staying with her buddy Gavin and Mrs. Lashonda everyday while mommy is at work. She seems to be adapting very easily to that transition which makes it so much easier on mommy!! Can't wait to see what next month brings.

Britann, Addie and I got to visit with my cousin Nathan and his wife, Angie and baby Baylor while they were in from Chicago for Christmas. It was great to see Baylor because she has grown so much since the last time they were here. Isn't she just beautiful?? This was the best out of several pictures that I took. We couldn't quite get that camera at the right place at the right time.

Daddy got his very own set of golf irons. I guess mommy thought he was pretty good this year. I think it had something to do with helping with those late night feedings if i had to guess!

Addie got some great stuff from Nana and Pop a wii game and Aunt T got her this unusual little doll. It was really funny because she didn't know quite what to make of her and then when her arm fell off it really got even funnier. Thanks Aunt T this one will be haunting her dreams for a while!
She wore herself out talking on the phone, just like her mommy.

Addie had a blast opening all her presents and doing a little dancing in between.

Britann pretty much was just taking it all in !

Okay, so this picture is totally out of place but it won't let me move it and I just had to include this so that one day Addie Blaire will appreciate all the trouble that Santa went to on that night to set up this doll house just right. I bet he stayed up til 2 or so getting it just so with all the little pieces and furniture and accessories!! What a guy!

Britann and great grandmother Bobo.

The closest we came to a family picture. We spent Christmas eve with Mitch's dad's family. It is always a lot of fun and a little crazy with so many kiddos. I guess that is why we never even got a picture of them all this year. It was too hard to chase them all down!

Addie Blaire's gifts from Santa. She couldn't believe that he brought the 3 things she wanted to most. I guess she must have been a good girl or at least that is what "Eli the Elf" must have told him!"

Britann's gifts from Santa. A doll and activity play toy.

We made our cookies and milk the night before.....

can you believe it he ate all of those cookies down to one last bite. It bothered Addie so bad she had to eat that one for him!

Addie felt the need to demonstrate how the jack in the box worked. I think she like some of her sister's toys as much as her own. I was so glad that G was able to be there with us that night and morning to see the kids opening there presents.

Britann was very alert Christmas morning. I was glad to see that she seemed pretty excited regardless of the fact she had no clue what was going on!!!

Addie Blaire got a tennis racket and so did mom from dad. I think Dr. Douglas down the street will be getting a call very soon to see if we can give them a try out on the courts.

She actually looks like she is into this one. Luckily sister didn't mind helping her open her gifts this year, but next year will be a different story!

Addie Blaire got a go go walking dog from G. I think we will be hearing alot from him for a while to come.

I think I actually got little Mas a gift he really liked. The criss cross crash (?) not sure exactly but he seemed to be really excited!!

Bobo and the grandkids! We opened presents with him the night before, Addie got a really cool Belle doll (which is her favorite) and then he came by that morning to share in the fun.

"G" and the kiddos!

We got together with Mitch's mom's side of the family on Christmas day. It was so great because Mitch's great grandmother was even there. I had been wanting a picture like we had with Addie of the 5 generations (crazy that that happens today!) for a while. I was so glad that she was able to be with us that day. It made the holiday even that much more special. And afterwards my favorite part of Christmas took place. The Santa Sacks from Nikki and Pop. It is all the things you hate to buy yourself (toilet paper, dish soap) in huge bulk packages!! It is the gift that truly keeps giving!

Since my aunt is a librarian she always has the coolest books and this one was no exception except that is came with headphones, a big plus in Addie's book.

We got to hang out one night with our good friends from Chicago and their precious little boy Thomas. He is such a little doll isn't he!!!

Daddy and Addie trying out the easybake. Sorry it is messed up but I just had to post our first cake. Thanks Aunt Bran!!

"Dear Santa, Define Good" Daddy says that shirt is a little too fitting for this wild child!! Don't worry baby he doesn't mean it!!

My cousin Kelly has this exact picture with myself, Terri, Addie and Britann now. She was in from Pennsylania so it was great to get to catch up with her and her newlywed husband!!

I am really thinking Britann is going to be quite the flirt because the biggest grins we get are when she is laughing at either, Pop, Bobo or daddy!! She is defienetly wrapping them around her little bitty fingers!

Ugly Christmas Sweaters, OH MY!!

We decided to have our 2nd Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater party a few weeks back. As I am very late posting all my Christmas stuff. We had a bunch of couples and singles join us at our house with the help of some friends for a night of laughs and lots of goodies! I posted several of the couples/singles but I forgot to take a picture of several so here are a few of the contestants.
As usual in pictures you never quite get the full effect of my ensable. I had of course the antlers, actually they were that little girl on the grinch movies pigtails I think. Anyways I had found some battery operated lights and had them strung through my hair and stashed the battery pack in my sweater. I had on the coolest santa socks but those did make the picture. I have to thank my grandmother for the use of her sweaters and for being such a good sport about it!

These two defientley went beyond the call of duty!! I could see them and the light display on their wreaths pulling up the driveway. I have to say it was histerical!!

Some of the ladies from the party!! The best part about it is that you don't even have to get ready (or at least some of us don't, not mentioning any names though!)

These are a couple of pictures I snapped on the way out the door on the last day of school before Christmas break! Addie Blaire loved her last day Mrs. Michelle said once again those arms never quite moving because she loved every second of the party. They actually had a birthday party for Jesus instead of a regular Christmas party and even made some Reindeer food for Santa. I am so glad to see her learning more about the real reason for the season. Not so sound cheesy, but she know understands more this year what it is all about. She even tells me all about the manager and how Mary had to find a place to stay. One funny story, at church the other day during childrens' moments she got the microphone and as Christi allowed her to talk. She sat there for a few minutes just studdering "uh, uh, and then she proceeds to say "the shepards watched over the sheep" it was pretty funny because it had absolutely nothing to do with what they were discussing but she was so proud of her proclamation that she smiled and walked down the aisle to give me a kiss!!! These are the days that I never want to end!

Little Ms. Britt Britt (as Addie says) is doing some major cheesing these days!! I am loving it!
