First day of 1st Grade and Pre-School!

I will say it one more time if I haven't already said it like a million times in my last few posts. I can't believe my babies are growing up so fast.  I just want to make time stand still and keep them this little forever!  I realized the day would come when they would be ready for me to just drop them off as they head into school but I wasn't ready for it to happen with both of them quite yet.  Addie Blaire informed me on the first day that it was okay for me to just sit in the car "if I wanted" always one to be so sweet... but Britann pretty much told me "it was time for me to go!"  Oh, the hurt I felt, the rejection...but then came the happiness in knowing that both my girls love school and their teachers which make it that much easier to pull away in the mornings and know that they are happy and content just where they are!

Addie Blaire's 1st Grade Favorites! This was our second year to try this idea and I just love doing it almost as much as they love picking all their favorites.  I must say Addie Blaire's job choices have been rather interesting over the past two years.  We went from a toe nail polisher last year to an artist this year! She definitely has a mind of her own when it comes to what she wants to do.

Our new backpack and lunchbox that she picked out all by herself this year!
It looks about as big as she is!
Darby Kate and Addie Blaire all ready to take on  1st Grade together!
Headed for the first time down the big kids hall in the main building!
Ready to get to work!

Addie Blaire and Mrs. Beaty

That weekend we spent the afternoon with my parents at the farm and and the girls picked out their very own hats from Pop's rack for the trip! I think they make for some of the cutest farmers around!
On Sunday Addie Blaire dressed herself from head to toe for church, including these fabulous white gloves and "Estee Lauder" purse that Nana gave her.  She is definitely a girly girl no doubt about it!

And the next week it was Britann's turn to start school.  We had made her poster at the same time as AB's because she just had to do one like big sis.  She was so excited and I just loved all her answers that were so honest, just precious!  She is starting at Mrs. Michelle's this year.  Luckily, she let her come since her birthday isn't actually til mid September she will have to repeat 3 year program again next year but I knew she was ready for Preschool. I am so excited she has the chance to go where big sister did because she loved Mrs. Michelle and I know Britann will too!

Her backpack! She never forgets this thing, every morning she asks where her backpack is... I just wish big sister did the same somehow she seems to forget hers more than little sister does.
So excited to be going to her school for the first time!
Britann and Mrs. Michelle
She didn't waste any time starting to play with all the kiddos.  She jumped right in there just like a big girl and started making new friends.  I'm so proud that she seems so happy to be going to school!
So here's to another great year ahead for my kiddos. I pray that God will watch over them, protect them and heal them. I pray they will learn everything that school teaches them but most importantly each day that they are exposed to and grow in their knowledge and love of God!

Summer comes to an end...and my first concert!

Well as the summer comes to a close that could only mean one thing if you live in Southwest Arkansas...It's watermelon time!  This post is filled with all the goings of the Bobo's our last week of vacation.  We were pretty busy to say the least and the girls ended the summer with some good times and good friends (and family of course!) The pictures below are a little all over the board as usual but that is just how my mind seems to operate these days!

The girls spent the weekend with Nana and Pop and Aunt T and Lila while mom and dad were in Fayetteville for a golf tournament and they had the best time.  Nana always gives them all the TLC they need when they are around.  I just loved this picture Terri sent me one night of everyone, heavy eyelids and all listening to Nana as she read them a Christmas book?!  I guess I'm not the only one wishing for cooler weather.
The next day they all went to Little Rock to the zoo.  My aunt Bettye joined them and they had a blast.  Although I'm not sure about my mom's Dollar Tree hats that everyone was sporting...?? The good news is there is no need for any captions for the pictures because my Aunt Bettye took care of that before she ever sent them to me so I will save everyone the time of reading my ramblings.

The next weekend the girls and I made the trip to see Aunt T, Uncle B and Lila at Lake Ouachita one afternoon. It was so relaxing being on Lake Ouachita.  It had been a long time since I had been on that lake and I forgot just how calm and beautiful it was there.  I taught the girls and Uncle B, for that matter, how to catch crawdads under rocks, we swam to islands and lounged all afternoon.  So thankful to get to spend some time off with my favorite people.

Hanging out by the camper.  I must say it was pretty impressive, that is no pop-up like we grew up hanging out in the Cross family does it first class!
The girls hanging out during the Watermelon Feed for the sponsors of the concert.  Thanks again to the Coffee's for opening up their home to everyone.
It's that time of year again.. Watermelon 24/7!
Brit's first dentist appt. or should I say second dentist appt.  But I'm not sure if the the first one actually counted because her bottom never touched the chair nor did the utensils touch her mouth!  Thanks goodness for a sweet friend in the business, we had our first real checkup.
So proud of my dad, he was recently appointed to the Board for the College of the Ouachitas.  I know what an honor that is now having a position with another two year college.  I must say he will do a great job promoting this institution and helping to improve education for those in our area.  Congrats!
I love these two little neon cuties!!  They certainly know how to show love...
and give it in return!!!  Just makes me want to squeeze them...

And now Watermelon weekend begins..My mom came down on Friday to help me out with all my duties while "G" helped watch the girls.  They stopped by the festival to help me slice watermelons for the crowd or so I thought...
instead they somehow ended up eating the profits!!
Hanging out at the festival with Katie Ella.
The tired racers...  Well, AB should be tired but as for the other two I'm pretty sure they didn't strain themselves too hard considering Uncle B and I carried them for 90% of the race!! But either way they were all very proud of their metals!
Post race watermelon is a favorite of my girls!

Saturday night the whole family came out to support me at the concert.  I had been gone since about 5 that morning setting up so I was so excited to see these two cute faces that night. The girls seemed to enjoy the food and good music!
The fam camped out at the concert... that is if you can even see them.
Aunt T and Lila
My poor alien children... This was about the best quality picture I got at the concert.  The girls had a great time hanging out with Nana and Pop and Aunt T, Uncle B and Lila.  They ran into several friends and enjoyed getting to dance around all night long.
Nana with her three sweeties!
Tracy Lawrence and I right before the show.  After running around like crazy all day in the 100+ degree heat I was pretty tired by this point. But Tracy put on a great show and sang all his hit songs from over the years.  He even sang some songs off his new album which is doing really well now.  He was so nice and really helped me out a great deal since this was my first concert...  I never knew all the preparation that went into making this happen but I sure do now!! So here's to having the first one in the books!
And now to Aimee's last day to babysit :(  We sure are going to miss having Ms. Aimee around the house but I know she has many more important things to do this year... like graduate!  I'm sure she hasn't seen the last of us though!  The girls will be more than happy for mom and dad to get away so they get the chance to see her again very soon.
Ready for a lake weekend and some fun with friends.  This was our first time for AB to bring a friend along and the girls giggled and giggled all weekend!
These are the faces of some very happy tubers.  That didn't stop smiling from beginning to end, even little Britann loved every second with the big girls.
Britann and Harper checking each other out.  They loved their view from the front of the boat!
The girls got a kick out of the gas station on the lake and the very cool decorations.  It really is worth the stop to see what all this man has in store for you.  We left with some happy kiddos eating free Popsicles!
So, farewell lake and summer of 2013!  We have enjoyed every second to the fullest but now it's time for 1st grade and Preschool!!  I just can't believe it!
