We got back from camp and were using the week to prepare for her ball tournament that weekend when we had a little accident. This one got popped right in the eye with a ball. She said it hurt terribly but she remained tough and continued to practice the rest of the week. I told her if she decides to continue on with ball it probably won't be her last shiner!!
Two days later this tough kiddo was ready to play ball. She has learned a lot this season on and off the field so proud of this kid for her tough, fighting spirit even when it isn't easy. She didn't get the time on the field I am sure she had hoped for but she never complained always cheered on her team and keep that smile. This girl has taught me so much about positivity and perseverance. The whole crew came to support these girls for their day of games. Getting ready for game 1 with AB.
B had a blast playing ball with Mary Benton and these two did the best they had done all year that day. I was so proud of them both...makes me look forward to next year!
Even the neighbors came out to watch.
Their favorite part was hanging out with friends off the field..don't blame them that was always mine too!
It was a long hot day out there but worth it to see these two enjoy themselves on the field. So proud of both of their efforts to do their best and improve this year.
Little B was on fire!! She did great and even had to play 5 back to back games which was more than she played all year. She got to play pitcher several times and got some outs which is always fun to watch!
B was on fire in her last game she ran those bases like a pro!
Day two and back in action to watch sister this time. But this baller was all decked out just in case she needed to take the field.
AB taking the field!
Hot, tired and now ready for a nap!
My two girls helping promote the festival for mom sporting their t-shirts and the concert poster.
AB went to volleyball camp that week as well and she did so good. I think she really enjoys this sport. She even won the prize for the kindest player that encouraged everyone all week. Proud mom moment!
The next week the girls both participated in the Drama Camp led by an OBU graduate. It was a cute play that was improv so they got to make up their own lines...believe it or not they all did great and didn't seem to be a bit worried about the audience.
The cast and crew of the show at curtain call.
And my two little stars of the show..at least in my eyes!
The next week they did a camp for the 1st through 6th graders at our church all week. They did activities each day related to missions. I was lucky enough to get to escort them to Little Rock one day for time at the Arkansas Food Bank and then on to Heifer International Headquarters for lunch and a tour.
B even lucked out and got to go two days even though she was a bit too young. She went on the field trip with me and then was able to go to the trampoline park with them the last day...I think she was a bit excited if you can't tell.
More Heifer pics..
AB on her little overnight trip for Darby's birthday party. I know she had fun with this crew.
And now on to family time with my crew...
