Britann's One-derful 1st Birthday!

Well what can I say I really can't believe a year has gone by and my little baby is 1!! It makes me sad to just be posting about her first birthday, which might be one of the smaller reasons it has taken me this long. I must say that in those first few weeks you keep waiting for them to get a little bigger so they will sleep better at night or be more mobile, then (maybe it's just me though) I find myself once they hit that point wishing I could take all those times back. I know that Britann has changed our lives for the better and that because of her Mitch and I have opened up our hearts even more than we both realized was possible. I won't say that it has been the easiest year or our lives and anyone that knows us would tell you the same but even through the lack of sleep and permanent indention in my hip we wouldn't change a thing. I thought about Britann's party and even asked her big sis what we should do and the idea just kept coming back to me that "it goes by in a flash". So we went with that as the theme to her party and tried to remind everyone of all the precious memories that we have made this last year. The day or her actual birthday we had to get a few pictures so since we had more than enough birthday attire we had to make a few wardrobe changes that day....

Look at those two precious little toothies (that is all we got here at 1) but we aren't going to let that stop us, oh no, we are eating anything that gets with arms reach of those little fingers!!

Mrs. Lashonda is too good to this little girl. I know she loves this baby so much and I can't tell you as a mom how happy that makes me to know that my baby is in such good hands when I am away. She loves her so much she couldn't resist buying her some goodies either. The tutu and onesie are precious!! I know you read this so I am thanking you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my sweet baby!! The day of her actual birthday Bobo and Ms. Sharon couldn't help but stop by and bring her a gift. They also felt a little sorry for her that mom was making her wait for some cake til the party so that thought a little icee would do the trick to hold a girl over. Boy were they right, first time for everything! She also loved the Elmo that sings some impressive tunes. Trying that icee, I didn't know if we would be able to get it away from her.

The day of the party cousin Lila made an early arrival and the girls had some fun just playing together, which was a first for them considering miss Lila is sitting all by herself now.

The party table!!

I made this with the help of a website, and I thought they turned out pretty hilarious!! I was determined no matter where you were you weren't going to forget who's big day it was!

I had all the guests write a note to Britann on her first birthday. I did this with Addie Blaire and in fact her notes are still in that very box. I wanted both the girls to look back one day and know the wishes and thoughts that we had for them at that very moment!!

As a party favor I decided on a disposable camera for all the kiddos that came. I wanted them to have the chance to go make some memories of their own. And boy did they, most of them before they ever left the party.

I hung pictures around from this past year to show all the good times and just how much this little one has grown.

The birthday chair set for the little queen bee herself.

The beautiful birthday girl ... she looked like such a little doll!!

Ms. Sharon, Brit, Bobo and Mamaw Bobo

Mrs. Lashonda and her little Brit. I wish I had posted the sweet note Zach her little boy wrote to Britann for her box. I believe it read something like "Brit you sure are cute but you sure can be a little onary sometimes". too true Zach too true!

Brit and Aunt Bran, we love us some Brandee. (cute picture of you Bran, by the way, so you can't get mad at me for posting it.)

The little ones sure did find a way to entertain themselves and the adults for that matter cause they sure were cute to watch!

Looks like trouble if you ask me, as part of my Britann one year update that little girl loves nothing better than emptying a toy chest. She could care less about the toys in it.

I believe this would be her best attempt to get me to stop taking pictures, however unfortunately for this little one that didn't last long.

Booty shoots like this are too irresistible.

the little ones idea of fun....

and the big kids. I really hadn't planned out any games for the kiddos except for a cute idea my mom had to have all the kids bring baby pictures and to post them and let all the kids have fun figuring out who was who. It was a great idea but my execution was not to be so we settled for some fun in Addie's room.

see I said so, you just never knew where she was going to pop up!

Aunt T just couldn't resist making fun of good ole mom! Sisterly love I think you call it!

I had a great idea to set up some photo props for pictures, an idea I had seen on a website, but 2 things went wrong. 1. the frame was so heavy all the kids looked tortured in the pictures trying to hold it and 2. I once again had good intentions but never had the time to aide in the picture taking so thus few pictures got made. But doesn't my precious little nephew look adorable while suffering trying to hold that big thing.

Happy Birthday to you..... she couldn't wait to get her hands on it

and thanks to a little help from sissy she did just thatJust starting to get the hang of it...

oh yeah that's good...

yep it's official she's a big fan of icing and a little cake on the side..

but even better look how fun it is to squeeze between your fingers!! No stopping her now...

I really don't know why we even tried, it was pointless she was a mess!

I will say what become of present time was pure craziness which is why we don't have many pictures to remember it by. I had this wonderful idea that since Brit couldn't open her own presents all the kids should open one for her..

well let's just say taht one at a time thing went out the window real quick and mass caos prevailed. It was so sweet though how they were all so helpful and excited for her and on the bright side present opening went by rather quickly!

Too too cute!! Dont think we won't be sporting this at the next game so be looking for them.

"G" and Travis with little Brit

Nicki and Pop Britann's great grandparent were so sweet to be there as well.

Pop trying to get a hold of this little monkey. She is not a easy baby to hold this days you just never know when she will take a nose dive on you. It is actually a little scary how quick she is. PS.( as a side note to one of the best Nana's ever I am so sorry I didn't post the picture I had of you with the girls for the blog but I am not a fan of my kids without proper clothing as you know so I just couldn't put that picture on the blog and it was the only one I had of you guys!! I realize that is because you are such a wonderful mother and granmother that you were always helping out where needed and never had the chance to get your picture. So for all those reasons and many, many more we love you!!)

That was one big day for one little baby!! I don't know who was more tired her or us. I am so glad that all our family was there to share in such a happy time with us!! We love you and appreciate all your support over the last year and only wish for all the continued prayers for this sweet girl and her big sis in years to come!

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl! Just what do you have in store for us next year. Looks like we will just have to wait and see!!!
