She's a Ball-er!

I seem to always be a day late when it comes to my blogging but here I go again trying to play catch up. I think my girls one day will be a little confused by my blogging style considering it is a little all over the board but hopefully they will appreciate the fact that I did it!! Maybe not the way others would do it but I did give it a try!

April 2012
The girls and I were dropping Mitch off at Oaklawn the last weekend of racing season and the girls asked why they couldn't go with daddy and I said as we pulled off well I don't see why we can't check this place out.(By the way I did always say I would never take my kids to the races but we did stay outside and away from all smoke and went on a weekday.) Was I just justifying it, uh yeah I really was! So anyways we decided to make a little trip inside for a few minutes to check it out and yes dad was super surprised (in a great way of course). The girls and I were able to check out the horses while they were saddled and then even went outside for a race to see the horses run, but not without a stop for some popcorn ! I think the girls may want to go back one day but if not for the horses definitely for the popcorn!

Britann and Canon on one of their daily walks with Shonda around the neighborhood. How Sweet is that!
This was Addie Blaire's first year for tball. I just kinda signed her up but wasn't sure really where this all would lead. I must say this little girl surprises me all the time and this was no exception she really enjoyed it! Well except for that whole practicing part the games were a big hit. She did what you would probably expect, but probably with a whole lot more hip movement her playing in the dirt was more like dancing in the dirt! She danced on the bases she danced in the outfield and even occasionally up at bat! She would get so excited out there that she couldn't stand still. She did such a good job at bat. She was able to get base hits each time. I was sooo proud of her. She really lived up to the challenge and even though we didn't get to play in the last tournament she finished out the season well. I am excited to work with her some this year and can't wait to see her play again next year!
Sweet Heat Baby, bringing it on!
Addie Blaire and Jillian
Most of the team, a great group of girls!
Nana and Pop came to watch along with Bobo and Ms. Sharon this kid had some kind of following each game...
Nicki and Pop never missed a game or a practice they were our little ballers biggest fans!! It was nice because they got to watch AB and cousin Lydia at the same time. Thanks guys for coming out in the heat to support our girl.
even little sister (black eye and all) Yes she ran into our fireplace hearth and had a horrible black eye for a good week poor little baby!!) cheered her on she yelled louder than the rest of us for her!
Hitting that ball! Can you tell that she had a hand in picking out the bat? Even a serious baller has to look good! I never thought I would get so into it myself so when I was up at the fence and the coach had to tell me to sit down because I was THAT mom! Oh, what I have in store for me in the coming years! At least Addie thought it was hilarious that mom got in trouble.
Um yeah, this is the evidence I was looking for from all Nicki's pictures. She was doing some dancing. Doesn't really look like the coach appreciated her moves like mom.
Time to refuel.
Addie and her cousin Lydia were so cute out there together. They would both go after the same ball at the same time and then fight in the outfield for who got it. I remember seeing arms twisted backwards trying to get if from each other. I guess we all like to be the hero now and again and family or not these girls were in it to win it!
Sweet heat Mom" so proud!
Addie Blaire and I went with Grif, Angie, Jill and Tyce to see Disney on Ice in Little Rock a few weeks ago and it was really nice to have a day together.
And afterwards a stop at All Aboard for some dinner!
The little "conductors"!
This picture is one that I took on our 9th anniversary in May. Addie Blaire had been asking me about our wedding lately quite a bit and we had even watched it on video one day. So when I told her it was our anniversary and explained what that meant to her she wanted to do something for us. She had tried to think of something and then I started teasing her that afternoon about my present and she came to me later with this "bouquet" as she called it! How sweet is that , she still finds the beauty in the middle of the weeds. Like I mentioned to someone before it may look like weeds to some but to her mom in that moment it looked like a dozen roses!! Happy Anniversary Mitch!!
This I just had to include a picture of that I took of a portrait that my parents gave me for our anniversary present (which by the way has convinced Mitch that my parents really do hate him, he says that is the only way that they would consider this to be a gift in his eyes) there is a story behind it of course but let's just say that everyone has their own idea of beauty and a particular artist found Zoe to be her inspiration!! yeah, she was entered into an art show, too bad I never her how that worked out for her but considering she was willing to get rid of this beauty must not have been a big seller. For those that know Zoe you have to admit she almost has a regal quality to her that you never saw before now right?
