A rough start to 16 months!!

Addison Blaire is now 16 months, but it has been a rough start for her. We had to go last week to get her shots and she did not like that at all. I have to admit it was just as rough on me. I think from now on Dad needs to experience the thrill of shots with me. I just hate seeing her go through that and being the one that is putting her through it is even worse!! So that happened and then we were at my mom's house and Addison Blaire decided to try the stairs. We were standing right there but just looked away for a second and down she went!! She fell down the entire flight of stairs. I have to admit that ranks as probably the scariest moment of my life!! I picked her up right away and after a few seconds she quit crying andwas fine (I can't say the same for Nana and mom though.) I guess carpeting is the best thing for kids because it definitely cushioned her fall!! I must say it was a hard lesson learned for me about exactly how quick something like that can happen. However, the doctor said she was fine and we ended up going with my family to Texas for the weekend for a funeral for a family member. She did great on the trip and has been fine ever since. So for all the bad luck Mitch and I have endured lately I must say God was looking out for us this time!!! Nana and I haven't stopped thanking him, every night I make sure to let God know how grateful I am for his love and protection of my greatest joy and my entire world this sweet little baby girl.

Addie Blaire has learned to "call the hogs" Here she is giving her best "Whoo" Now I just need my buddies Jill and Renee to perfect some of her techniques!!

She is just about to lose it here I think. She is now saying "wow" every time she gets a little off balance. She is also saying so many more words now. Janice says that when she sees baby einstein come on now and the worm comes across the screen she yells "einstein." She also know the word tv. I know that doesn't sound like a good thing but we really do try to limit the amount of television she watches. However, she loves some Little Einsteins, Backyardigans, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse right now. We have a dance we do to "hot dog" every morning to get us going.

These are a picture of her new Nike shoes we got last week. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but she loves them. I actually went to buy her the cutest pair of Ugg boots for babies, but her feet were a little too chunky to fit in the boots, so we tried these on and they were a hit. She even wore them out of the store and hasn't stop walking since. For some reason, I thought her feet were smaller than they are and she probably was just so glad to get a pair of shoes that actually fit where her toes weren't crammed.

The neighbors have a cat and at first Addie Blaire was scarred of it, but now that she is used to it she chases it everywhere. Here she is bending down to it and clapping her hands to call it over. Needless to say the cat didn't fall for it and was gone soon after this shot was taken!

So she moved on to good old Zoe. I feel so sorry for Zoe these days because her whole world has changed. I guess we are making up for it by feeding her more which is why she lays around all the time now. She has been great with Addie Blaire though, much better than we expected. She really is very protective of her and lets Addie Blaire pull and tug on her, with only a little licking in response to her.

Sweet sweet kisses!!! I know some people think that is gross but our birthing class teacher said that dogs mouths have less germs than most people, go figure!

She really is one of the happiest babies I have ever been around. I feel so blessed to be her mother and to enjoy all these precious and once in a lifetime moments and milestones with her.

Playing with Lynnley, Mason, and Griffin

We spent one night over at the Whitlocks house and the kids had so much fun playing with all the fun toys and the new swing set Lynnley got for her birthday. I was able to finally get Addie Blaire's hair up in a little pony tail holder and it stayed (boy did it ever, as you can tell by the pics) She is growing up so fast so I am taking advantage of the time I have left to dress her up as I choose. My guess is she will hate me one day for this hair style!! Oh well!!

She loved this grocery cart, although she kept trying to eat the food in the cart. I guess she has seen me doing the same thing at the grocery store because the only time I go is when we are absolutely out of everything and are starving!!

She is turning into somewhat of a girly girl because I have taught her to brush off her hands if she falls and she just can't stand to get grass or dirt on her hands anymore!!

Up, up, and away thanks to dad!!

Lynnley was so good with Addison Blaire. She just kept checking on her and giving her hugs and kisses. It took Addison Blaire a second to understand this concept, she is not around as many girls so she is usually trying to defend herself around all these boys!!

How sweet is that!! The two of them were so cute I couldn't quit taking pictures of them.

This was the closest we came to a group shot of the four of them.

Addie Blaire, Lynnley, and Mason sharing a sucker, probably not the most sanitary thing but I certainly wasn't going to be the one to stop them!!

First Ride with Aunt Bran!

Brandee was in two weeks ago and she took Addison Blaire for a quick ride across the yard on the four wheeler. She really seemed to like it, even though Brandee was driving so slow!! Mason however, was all for fast. He really loved it!!!

This is me trying to use the camera I've had for almost a year now that I still can't take very good pictures with yet. I think she was a little dizzy in these pics after getting off the four wheeler. She just kept pointing into the sky. Too funny!!

She has really gotten so good at pointing to things and saying exactly what they are or what she wants. (not always a good thing.) She can say almost anything that someone else says, so I am making her dad think before he speaks these days

She has gotten so good at walking. We have really been working with her on walking outside. I have even taken her over to the golf course and practiced on the greens there where the grass is cut very short for an easier surface. She can walk all over now. She is walking down the driveway in the pic and you can see the focus in her eyes and her mouth (she gets that from Mitch by the way) to just not fall down this time!

Addie is loving her some Daddy!!

Addison Blaire has been all about her Daddy these days. She really seems to want him to be around all the time and when he leaves she waits by the door for him. She has gotten so attached that she just follows him around everywhere.

She is giving daddy some loving, she loves giving hugs and when she does she know says "ahh" because she knows that is what we have always said and then she pats you on the back. It is so sweet and I just can't get enough of them.

One sign she is tired the paci. We can't seem to get ready to give it up yet. I admit it is just as much my fault as hers. She sleeps so well with it that it makes it hard to take away from her. It is definitely the closest thing she has to a comfort blankie. We are making progress though because she only takes it for naps and bedtime now.

The Cowboys Game!

So we got a way for the weekend a couple of weeks ago and had a really good time. Mitch and I went with Brandee, Mark, and the Harpers to a Cowboys game. Thanks in part to Alltel who provided the box for all the fun and good food too!! We stayed at a pretty cool hotel in Dallas and even the girls got to do a little shopping while the guys played a few rounds of golf with my cousin Colin at Top Golf (which according to Mitch is the greatest place on earth!) THe game was a lot of fun , in part for me because we were sitting next to Jessica Simpson and her entourage!! (dog included!) But we had a great time and enjoyed getting to sleep in, its weird how things change when sleep becomes the highlight of your trips!!

The Hope Fair with Griffin

Well we decided to go to the local fair and it turned out to be so much fun. The kids and the best time on the rides and the parents had the best time gourding ourselves on every fried fare they sell!!! So we all left feeling a little sick for different reasons!!

Addie did not like the real sheep as much as she pretends to when she sees it in a book.

She did such a good job at the duck pond she won a Nemo. Actually I think the lady was so tired of us she just gave it to us to get us to leave and quit taking pictures.

This was by far the funniest part of the night. The pictures just don't do it justice. Addie Blaire and Griffin went on their first and (only date according to Mitch) THis little truck went round and round and the two of them in there together was a riot!!

Addie Blaire and I rode our first ride together and probably the first of many considering Dad is not a big fan of them. It was this little bug that went in circles, only it was a little faster and higher than it looked! She seemed to enjoy so that is all that really matters.

Once again there were too many ducks and not enough time. WE didn't even know how much to pay the poor woman because Griffin and Addison Blaire were pulling ducks out so fast!!

A trip to the fair is never complete until the merry go round!

The Clowns came to Town!

Well Addie Blaire got to see her first clowns at the church a few weeks ago. They came as part of an outreach program from another church. She loved them from afar however was not the biggest fan of them up close. SHe danced to all the musica and really enjoyed the ice cream and cotton candy!
She even was so interested that she propped herself right in front of all the other kids to get a glimpse of the show.I was so afraid she was going to get stepped on at this point dad had to take action and get her out of the way!
I am having a little talk with her because as you see in the picture below she is carrying a little gummie hamburger that the clowns gave her, but the only problem is it wasn't hers. She went around and was stealing everyone else's off the floor while they weren't looking!!

She really does love to dance. Here she is "waving her hands in the air acting like she just don't care" She was bouncing up and down and kept yelling yeah like she knew she was doing something really cool!
