My Old Friend

I just really wanted to post a link to this song after hearing it for the first time tonight. I didn't know how to do so without this YouTube link. I hope that it speaks to you the way that it has me tonight as I have listened to it over and over again. This song was in a video that I was sent tonight by a good friend. Mitch and I are hosting a benefit this Saturday for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of her husband, and one of my and Mitch's best friends who pasted away over a year ago. He pasted away due to complications with Leukemia (check back to july 08 post.) This song was attached with a slideshow of several pictures of us. I would prefer not to post that video out of respect for her, but this song I just couldn't forget. As I looked at those pictures, I remembered all the good times we shared with David. I also remembered how many friends I too have that I don't do a good job of keeping up with.. it seems in the rush of starting my own family I don't have as much time for some of those that meant so much to me over the years. I know most of my posts are all about Addie Blaire, which is exactly why I blog for her benefit one day. I want her to have all these memories to see and re-live. But I also know that as I read many other blogs I find a great deal of inspiration from some really awesome women who share their struggles and triumphs. I hope that this song for those that listen will be a reminder of how quickly time flies by and how no time is too soon to tell our friends how much they mean to us!!

Griffin's Party

Addie Blaire and I went to Griffin's 3rd birthday party last weekend and we had so much fun. The highlight of the party was by far his present from his grandpa. He got a real, live horse!! It was pretty cool and he was right at home riding him to my surprise. I expected this little horse I guess so I was surprised to see how big this horse actually was! It was so cute see the kids all ride on him. Addie Blaire was so jealous when she so Griff on the horse that she had to be next. Thanks to Griff's poppy she was! She rode that horse like a real cowgirl. I was a little scared but she certainly wasn't!

The birthday boy and his best buddy. These two really are as tight as two little friends could be, we are so glad she has someone she enjoys being with everyday.
Addie Blaire was so intent on getting to ride the horse that she was up on it's back before I knew it. She said "mommy, mommy" and I looked over she had a handful of rocks she had been playing with still in her hands as the horse was taking off.

My little cowgirl, now that both of her grandpa's have seen this picture there will be a fight over who gets her a pony.

Taking a little break on a hayride.

The best part besides the horsey, the smores!! She had never tried one that I know of and I don't think it will be her last. She took it down in no time. I thought mommy might have gotten a bite after all my trouble to make it, but I was very wrong! Thanks to the Ralph's for a great party, they really know how to show the kiddos a good time!

Snow Days!

We FINALLY got snow!!!! I can't believe it actually happened down south. I thought for sure we would have sleet again, but this was actually really pretty snowflakes and even enough for a miniature snowman. ( I know our snowman can't compete with you north Arkansas folks so we won't even try!) Addie Blaire has seen snow before but it was when she was so small she wouldn't have remembered it. It was really funny as the snow was coming down she looked at me and said "mommy, but Christmas is over!" I guess somehow I have drilled into her head a white Christmas and she didn't understand why the snow was coming now. We had lots of fun in our 24 hours of snow. It worked out perfectly that earlier in the year Janice had bought Addie Blaire this snow suit at a garage sale so we were set for the weather. What would we do without that Janice!!

Our new house all covered in snow!

I actually got her to smile and look at the camera, it was a first for me. I am so proud!

She loved exploring all around the house, she couldn't believe the snow was really everywhere.

Making a snowman with Carter and Ellie, like I said it was a little small but what it lacked in size it made up for in character. Just check out that mohawk!

I decided she needed to give making a snow angel a try, so she was fluttering around and I said no it's like this. She was a little freaked out by me pushing her into the snow, but she got the hang of it real fast and there were angels all over our yard.

Addie and Grif having a snowball fight with Janice.

Daddy was teaching her the fine art of making a snowball and to his surprise he got slammed with one!

I am adding this picture for my mom. She got Addie Blaire this dress for Christmas. She looks so big in it though like a little school girl. I wish that made me happy but unfortunately it just makes me sad!

#1 reason we love Janice (Nana) is because she loves to put a smile on my baby's face. She is willing to go to any length to make her happy. She actually had been talking to Addie about tea parties, and Addie didn't quite understand so she decided it would be more fun to have a party. She told Janice there needed to be blowers, balloons, party favors, cake, and streamers. Well, sweet little Janice took that and ran with it. The next day she arrived at my house with bags of goodies for a party. The two of them had a great time celebrating, and we even left it up all week so Grif could enjoy the fun too!

Janice brought her new puppy over the other afternoon and she was just too cute. Addie Blaire didn't know what to think about such a tame little thing, she is way to used to crazy Zoe. She kept giving it kisses, I just had to catch that on camera.
