Nutcracker and Lake Day Blues!

I have two skiers now!!  So exiting to see both my girls get up on skis.  B still has another couple of tries to really keep going but she has the hardest part down...the getting up!  AB is like a little pro these day getting up and skiing all over the cove...now to get her going over the wake.  Maybe next summer!
Love these two cuties!  An early morning wake up call for skiers!
I really don't think these video links will work but it was worth a try and the only pictures I got of them on skis.
Tryouts for Nutcracker are already upon us.  This girl moved up an age division this year so she was super nervous going against the older girls but I am sure she will be fine.
After tryouts all smiles.  I have a CANDY CANE this year!  It will be a great part for her and only 10 girls are in the scene which will be a change from previous years where she was in very busy scenes.  Only downfall...Saturday practices back in ATLANTA!!  Oh, just pray for this momma as she learns patience!
Our personal little cheering crew, thanks Ellie for hanging in their for the long wait.
Still all smiles back home and so excited to tell dad all about it.
The girls in her scene...
Just part of the girls from the tryout pictures they posted on Facebook.  You can see my little lady in red right there on the front.
And the next day these girls were on the road for some Magic Springs fun and a sleepover.  It worked out great because nana and I spent the day shopping!  It has been awhile since I got to do that and it was sooo nice.

Just a few pictures from work as of late.  I am so proud to be a part of some of the good things happening for our college.  WE have such generous donors/businesses.  I truly do feel blessed to be a part of so much good that is happening on our campus and most importantly for our students.

And then just like that it was labor day weekend.  So excited for a three day weekend on the lake!  We started the morning off right with a spin in the Jeep.
Followed by a full day of lake time with those silly Gentry boys.

And dinner and a little friendly game of golf afterwards!

The next day was spent on the lake with friends and lots of kiddos trying out the new float.  It was a big hit!
And then back to school we went.  Just a few pictures from the Back to School Bash at church...glow in the dark fun for all followed by pizza and ice cream sundaes!

And just like that it's back to school and Watermelons (lots of Watermelons :)

The day that all the madness with the festival started just so happened to be open house at the girl's school as well.  I helped with the Idol competition that evening and then the girls and I zipped over to catch open house later that night. B is so excited this year to have Mrs. Beaty, I know she is a wonderful teacher as AB had her and she has taught for so many years with so much experience that will benefit B.  Lola is also in her class this year, so B is excited to have a room full of friends.
AB will have the same three teachers as last year but this year her homeroom teacher is Mrs. Alexander.  She is excited for a year with (hopefully) a little less homework and lots more fun!
Mrs. Zumwalt is another one of her teachers this year.
And look who little B ran into while we were there.  Mrs. Shonda, her very first babysitter and teacher.  She kept this child for the first three years of her life and was such a great mentor and "momma" to her as well.
My girls helped us out at the festival this year and even modeled some of the vintage tshirts and hats from years past.
Brit wanted to make sure that Charlie got in on the action too!
This one is getting so big...and apparently looking back at this photo she thinks she is big enough to be wearing mascara...but my friend you have been caught, we will talk later!
Love this vintage hat that little B sported all weekend.
A little fun with friends as the festival got kicked off on Thursday.

And then Saturday night was a night full of activities for me.  I am always in charge of the concerts for the festival and this year I was lucky enough to bring back a previous Idol winner who has gone on to do big things, Miss Rachel Hale is as precious on the inside as she is the outside.  So glad to have her back in our area and share her beautiful voice with us.
The headliner this year was Joe DIFFIE.  He was a really funny guy who entertained us with his stories backstage.  He also did a great job with the crowd that night!
The next morning we were up bright and early with all four girls in tow for the blessing of the backpacks at church.  I was so glad Lila and June were able to attend with us and love that my kids go to school the next day with a tag to remind them how much they are loved and cared for by our church.
A few festival pics from my mom that she shared with me later.  She and my dad took all four girls out to the festival for the afternoon while I set up for the concert.  They even ran into a familiar face, Mr. Bright who is world known for his giant watermelons.  I mean like Guinness Book of World Records known.  Pretty cool stuff!

Great festival and so glad that my whole family came down to enjoy it with us.  But even better so glad it is over, with Mitch being the president of the chamber this year we got double the responsibility and stress.  I am so thankful they have hired a chamber director now and I get my husband back!!!
And just like that it was time for the first day of school.  The summer always seems to fly by and this year was no exception.  I can't believe how big these girls look this year.  Each year I get hit on facebook with previous year's posts and doing the comparison just makes this momma sad!!

AB all ready to go for 5th grade!!  And as usual we have done it for some 6 or 7 years now we did our posters.  I can't wait to take these photos one day and do side by side comparisons from year to year.  Just hope I can still talk her into it in High school.

Little B all ready for 1st grade.  She loved working on her poster and picking out all her favorite things.  Believe it or not she really does love Brussels spouts!

And just like that I was dropping them off!  At least they were all smiles just praying those smiles are still there by the end of school...fingers crossed!
I know they were left in good hands so I couldn't be more happy about that.

And just a little photo with our preacher that week at M&M's.  B said she needed it for school but I just think she thinks he is pretty cool!
