Award Winners...

Super proud of this guy right here.  He received an award as Past President of the Hope-Hempstead Chamber of Commerce.  He was really thrown into the fire this year when the Director resigned right after he took office.  It made what should have been a small role into a much larger one as the Chamber was in distress.  He along with the rest of the board pitched in to make sure that we had our 40th Annual Watermelon Festival along with other events like the banquet last year.  They were able to hire a new director and things slowed down quite a bit.  So proud of the role he played in keeping the doors open to this vital community agency and for the leader that emerged that may not have been so evident to others in the community all this time.  Mitch is such a great guy. But I think because he hides behind the humor at times not everyone witnesses the true leader and business wiz that he truly is.  I know it was a stressful year for him but just like they recognized at the banquet only someone like Mitch could have filled that role, with that sense of humor that keep everyone laughing all while getting the job done.

My dear friends Twyla and Jerry Pruden won Citizens of the Year...first time for two people to win the award let alone a couple.  Luckily i was able to help get their family there to witness it.  AS you can tell by the look on his face...I think he was rather proud.  So excited for these two people that have given so much back to our community.
AB completed the dare program this year.  So proud of this sweet girl and all she learned.
