Spring Break!!!

Spring Break this year started off for us on Saturday.  The girls and I met Nana and grandma Bass at the Jonquil festival in Old Washington.  We try to make it out there every year for the festivities and this year was just as much fun. The only negative was the flowers were all gone this time because of the warm winter we had so the picture taking was limited.  Addie Blaire got her first taste of kettle corn and she was a big fan.  Grandma Bass seemed to really enjoy her time out as well.  She hadn't been there in years and it brought back some memories for her as well.
I thought Nana might stroke watching Addie come down the shark slide.  Little did she know this wasn't her first time we had done this last year when she was 3!!
We just happened to run into some of the girls cousins there too.  Unfortunately you can tell we were a little hot and tired, time for some strawberry lemonade and ac!
We came right home and I started packing us up for the trip.  We left later that afternoon with plans to meet up in Waco with Brandee, mark and Mason.  We stopped at a great place that  night for dinner in Dallas.  The girls and I spent our time waiting outside running in the grass and getting some of their energy out of the way.  It was going to be a long night for us all!
We met up with the McCaslins in Waco and spent the night with the idea of getting up early and getting to San Antonio to Seworld early that morning. Well any trip with the Bobo's is bound to have some kinks and this time was no different.  We left a light on in car and the next morning car was dead with keys locked inside due to our nifty keypad that no longer worked because once again car was dead!!  So we waited some time for a nice man to come out on a Sunday morning to help unlock car.  Some 1 1/2 later we were on the road!  We made it about noon to Sea World and had the best time seeing all the shows and animals there.
Addie and Mas meeting up with some new friends.
The big kids even rode a roller coaster all by themselves!
Little Brit had not taken a nap by this time and it was well into the afternoon but I was amazed she was so into all the shows that she clapped and laughed through each one!  She was quite the little trooper and I was so glad to see she really enjoyed it all because I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to go with a little one her age.
This show was my favorite, with acrobats and divers and dolphins lots of non stop action.
Good thing for the stroller we hauled around because between all three kids it was well worth it.
It will never be said that my little girl is a scardy cat!  She is willing to try it all and this roller coaster was no exception.  She wanted to do it and I guess I drew the short straw cause I got to go with her.  I don' t think dad is a big fan of such rides.  It was a lot of fun but getting drenched was not!

The Shamu (?) show was pretty neat as well.  The whales were very entertaining and got a great deal of the audience pretty wet in the process.

Finally, Britann couldn't hold out any longer and fell asleep while we waited for daddy and sis to ride the water rapids.
It is a little hard to tell from this photo but as you can probably see daddy seemed to be having more fun on the ride than the kids!!

Cotton Candy break!  Just enough sugar to get us through the rest of the day.

We made it to the dolphin show just in time to get to feed the dolphins.  It was pretty neat for the kids to get so up close and personal with them.
Great day but ready for some dinner and rest!

The resort where we stayed I would highly recommend to anyone with children.  It was the Hyatt Hill Country and it was wonderful.  Beautiful old plantation feel and lots of activities for the kids.  Each night they had smores at 7 and a movie on the lawn at 8.  The smores were a big hit with our group!
It even had a heated lazy river!!
Little Brit on a sugar high after smores.  Poor thing had no rest so I was so proud of her for hanging in there all week with the big kids.
Ready for a day in Texas on the Riverwalk.

The riverwalk was really nice.  It has changed some since I was there several years ago.  I can say that it was a little boring for the kids because it was more restaurants and shops so we didn't stay too long.  Plus they had just seen a kid's museum on the way down so their little minds were already somewhere else.
Lunch on the river walk.
And yes the kid's museum was up next.  It was fun though so I am glad we saw it.  The kids got to send all the balls up into a holding bin and then watch them all drop at once.  Pretty exciting stuff!
Construction workers, dad would be so proud!

Britann even found a toddler area that was great for her.
Back to the hotel for some afternoon swim time and fun in the sun!
The girls both enjoyed their time in the lazy river.  I think that was a first time for either of them trying that out. Plus mom loved that it was heated because I am a chicken when it comes to cold water.
We did a lot of walking around the property and with the beautiful green grass and sidewalks Britann loved running around barefoot and fancy free!
On Wednesday we headed back to Dallas to give the Great Wolf Resort a try.  I am soooo glad that we just signed up for one night because that was enough for all the parents in the group.  It is a really neat place but very tiresome with kids 4 and 1!  It made me a little nervous trying to keep up with them at all times and the number of children there on spring break didn't help with that!  Mason, Addie and Brit all enjoyed the wave pool.  I would say that the water could have definitely been a little warmer for me!
The "blur" as we call her these days!

The evening clock tower show and bedtime story in PJ's was fun!
And a perfect end to the night was pizza and ice cream back in the room!
We really had such a good time and enjoyed our time with our nephew as well.  It is so nice to have the chance to spend several days together with our families.  I know that these are memories our kids will have for many years with their cousins which makes it even more memorable!!  Can't wait for next year to see where the road will take us!
