The last day before the baby arrived that we had to spend together was spent much like that one before Addie was born...on the lake!! The only exception was Addie was there to spend it with us. We took her on a boat ride and she and daddy even swam in the lake!! It was so nice to relax with my family especially to keep my mind off of what was to come.
Mitch and I arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am on September 20, 2010. Addie stayed with her G at the condo. As soon as we arrived they started hooking me up to machines, getting my line in and then before I knew it the doctor arrived to break my water!! Not fun by the way! After an hour or so they started the medicine to get the contractions going and before I knew it at about 8 am I was getting my epidural!!! From then on things were good!! Actually I take that back I got pretty nauseous and everyone left the room for a bit. I think it was a combo of the medicine and the ice I was downing at the time. The contractions increased but at about 11 am the baby's heart rate started to drop. The doctor and nurse were concerned and this had actually happened with Addie also so they stopped the medicine and just waited to see what would happen. Oddly enough, the contractions kept going on there own and I was ready to push at about 12:30pm!! Britann Mitchell Bobo was born at 1:37pm. She weighed in at a mere 6 lbs 7 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long!! I breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God for my little miracle!!!!
My first picture holding the most precious little angel!
Aunt Brandee was so great through the whole delivery doing anything I asked. I really was so glad she was able to be there with us!! I think of her like another sister to me so it would have seemed incomplete without her there. Poor girl, she is the only one that listened to the nurse and wore the gown!
Aunt T made it just as the baby arrived. She had to teach and couldn't leave that morning so her timing was pretty perfect. It was pretty cool during my labor, when Mitch and I were the only ones in the room she called. She wanted her 1st grade class to sing Britann the birthday rap for her arrival. I guess the emotions of the moment (because it came at a time when the doctor was a little concerned about the baby's heart rate) was perfect. I cried through the whole thing! It was so sweet to have her welcomed in by a classroom of screaming 6 year olds!!
Bobo and Pop took care of Addie during the delivery so G could be at the hospital. They brought her in just as the rest of the family was seeing her for the first time. I love this picture cause you can see how happy Bobo is that she is here too. I know how worried he was about the whole process so I can definitely see the relief in his face!
The first time big sis met her baby sister. There is nothing like this moment! I don't even have to post about the emotions that were going through me at the time because I know I will never forget them. I was so proud to finally have Britann here and to be blessed with a big sis like Addie is the best present that I could give her!!
Checking it all out! She kept asking if she was going back in my belly!! Too funny, but thank goodness the answer was no!!
The coolest big sis in the world! I love this kid!
As the coolest big sis it was only fitting that she have a bag full of treats and good eats!! I guess some would call that bribery or something but she deserves to feel special, simply because she is!!
She couldn't wait to try out all the new toys and especially the blow pops!
My dad was still a little hesitant to pick her up so this was the best pic I got. I am not worried though because he did the same thing with Addie and since the moment he picked her up he hasn't stopped to put her down!! I love you dad!

Getting my first sugars!! Or as G says "sucking that head like a crawfish!"
I just love this little hospital outfits and hats! This was the most alert I believe she was the entire stay at the hospital!
I guess as they say the bonding that happens immediately can't be denied. If you had told me that I could love this new baby as much as the first I don't think I would have believed there was enough room in my heart after Addie was born, but guess what I was so wrong!! I must say that my heart just got 10 times bigger when Britann arrived.
I have to talk about the fact that I have by most accounts the most wonderful husband. I don't normally or so freely say it, as he reminds me, but it is so true!! He was such a blessing during the delivery, he stayed right with me encouraging me and loving me. I can't say how much more at ease that made me feel. He has never backed away from all the stress and baby duty since then. Even in the hospital he waited on me hand and foot, even renting us a movie to watch every two hours during the night when the baby would come to feed!! He has gotten up with me, he has changed diapers, he has been a consistent figure in Addie's world and for all those reasons and more I truly love this man!!!!
This was just the sweetest picture of the girls. It had been a rough night for Addie the night before having to leave mommy and sister at the hospital. Mitch said she didn't sleep well that night at the condo thinking about us being gone. So the next day when he brought her back we all decided to take a nap together.
My family of four!!
Big sis couldn't wait to hold her, and she did such a good job!! I have such a big helper in Addie that I can't deny. She doesn't mind helping mom out and I could sure use all the help I can get right now.
G" holding baby Britann. She came by the hospital the second night to check on us and she still had not gotten a chance with the craziness of the day before to hold her for the first time. I am so lucky to have such great grandparents for my two girls!!!
Getting ready to leave the hospital on Wednesday. It took us a little longer than expected. My mom had taken Addie to Arkadelphia the night before and it was a big help. We had several visitors at the hospital that day so I was glad that Addie got to go hang out and have some fun. Plus we might have never made it out of the hospital if she had been there, I forgot how much stuff you have and accumulate while you are there.
This was the precious outfit that Nana got her to go home in. It was a little big considering she is such a peanut. Even her head is small and anyone that knows Mitch and I will definitely not be able to figure that one out!!
I tried so hard to take all the same pictures I did with Addie. I don't know why it matters but it did to me that day, blame it on the hormones. My camera did not cooperate though, so the pictures are a little blurry. This was our home sweet home for 48 hours and they went by to fast. I am a big fan of staying as long as they will let me. I love having the help and support nearby.
Each of the girls now has there very own door decor!
Daddy trying to cheer that sweet baby up. She had been moved around and messed with all she could stand at that point and we still had a long ride home!
Snug as a bug in a rug, as Addie and I would say!!
Leaving the hospital to take baby Brit to her new home. We even did our ritual like with Addie the only stop, Sonic for a large cherry vanilla dr. pepper!! It made the drive home so much more bearable! She did wonderfully on the 1 and 20 minute drive too. She slept the whole way, only a couple of times where that little bobble head got the best of her.
Luckily, my mom was waiting on us. She had come back that morning and brought Addie to school for us since we would be running late. She had even picked up the house a bit since Mitch and Addie had been leaving alone for a few days before! I can't tell you how much help she is, actually I did try and tell Terri but you can't appreciate til the time comes I know. If it weren't for her washing dishes and clothes and picking up my house I don't think I would have made it those first few days. She and G were both a big help too at night when my nerves would get the best of me and when the breastfeeding was not quite working out! I will not post about that though in fear to either scare the mess out of those that have nevered tried and mainly just because it might gross a few out!!! Let's just say there were some issues (but the type A in me didn't quit, even though I sure thought about it)
Home sweet home, I even took her on a video tour of her new home after this.
Those sweet chicken legs. I have got to get another picture with her legs straight out. Those knees you just want to kiss with all those sweet wrinkles. I know they won't be there long at the rate she is eating these days!
Bobo was first to arrive to greet her. He couldn't wait to get his hands on her because he didn't get much of a chance at the hospital either.
Nikki and Pop stopped by a day or so later and I was so glad because Nikki took several pictures for me. I have been a little slow to get that going lately. I can't imagine why!
The first bath or sort of bath. She really liked getting her head wet. The rest of her she was okay with, but this kid is the queen of pee! I have yet to give her a bath where the end result was not her peeing everywhere!
Sunbathing in the window. Yep you guessed it we came home a little jaundice so we sunbath or take walks a couple of times a day!! How sweet is that, even if she is mine!!
Aunt T and Uncle B spent the weekend with us. I am surprised they didn't run in fear of what was to come because Mitch and I defientley didn't hold back!! I think we haven't heard from Bracy since!
More pictures and visits to be posted as soon as possible.
P.S. If there are any mistakes and I am sure there are blame it on lack of sleep!!!!

Jill, what a great post! I feel like I was there with you! Britann is so sweet :)
She is such a doll. I got tears in my eyes thinking of the first time that Maggie saw Turner. It is a moment that is unforgetable. I can't wait to meet her in person.
Wow! Thanks for the heads up, as I am counting down 3 more weeks until I have two baby girls. I loved hearing about how you juggled the two, how big sis reacted, and being reminded about the struggles of the first few weeks. Congratulations to you and your family! I will pray for laughter through the sleepy postpartum tears for both of us =)
