B hosted her friends for a last-minute Christmas party at our house. We played some games, Dirty Santa with things from around their house (which was hilarious btw), and had pizza! We planned the party the night before and, bought lots of goodies, and stayed up all night baking, but somehow it turned out perfect!
And the best part was we just barely beat the weather...the snow started falling as the party ended. These crazy girls got out there and played in their pjs in the snow!
The next day was Christmas Eve so we started out early at Bobo's house for Christmas breakfast!
Happy Girls!!
We got Max a pellot gun.
In the midst of Christmas with Bobo, we were greeted with another present...just not the good kind. Due to the -14 degree weather we were having outside, our pipes at our lake condo busted. We spent a few hours cleaning up the mess. There was so much water!! Everywhere! it will be a process to fix as the whole roof is completely soaked, and so is some of the furniture. But I guess that is just part of the rental business....we luckily have a sweet renter who was very understanding. So to be continued....but that certainly didn't get Mitch in the holiday spirit!!
After that, we headed to Arkadelphia for Christmas with my parents! We had a great time eating and opening presents, and we even made it to their Christmas Eve church service. It was so sweet to be back there at the service I grew up attending on Christmas Eve. I just wish I had gotten some photos.Aunt T surprised the girls with a scavenger hunt to discover their gifts from each other....
They are headed along with Nana and their moms to Legally Blonde, the musical, when it comes this spring!!
Brit scored some roller skates
and boots and a jacket for AB for her trip the next day (?)
And a snow tube in case we got any more weather
What do you meme?
We even found the perfect gift for pop... a lump of coal!
And AB was excited about this gift...she is ready to get rolling too!
And the best part was we all got to take in Pop's hard work. he does these Christmas lights every year and it really is so pretty at night. Wishing everyone a very Silent Night..
The next morning came quickly as we got home late that night from Arkadelphia and still had to pack for our big Christmas gift. We were heading out the next day to NYC to celebrate Christmas. It is a bucket list trip for me and the girl's first time to NYC, so we are all excited...well, maybe except for mitch! But he is going and I am sure will find a way to have some fun!
My favorite gift....Dolly! Mitch surprised me with this jewel! A friend had told him about it being advertised, and the photo doesn't do it justice. It is awesome! It is her face made out of all her songs...I absolutely love it and love her! (In case I haven't mentioned that once or twice before)
Then after we checked out the stash from Santa, it was time for the annual scavenger hunt. These girls look forward to this every year to see what mom and dad have for them. This year it took them all over the house to gather their gifts...and at a rapid speed because we had 30 minutes til we had to leave to catch a plane!!
The girls both received their own personalized Bibles, something they had both wanted. They even got the tabs to keep up with the books of the Bible.
Her led name light for her room
Ab got a dresser for her roomA few little leggings for each girl
And a computer for each girl so they will quit fighting over mine. They needed them for all this homework they have these days!
And then, just like that, we were packed up and headed out to the airport....we would be spending the next few days in NYC! And my dream of seeing the Rockefeller Christmas tree on Christmas day was finally happening....loads of pics to come! Merry Christmas to all!!!
