Camp Addie Blaire!

Welcome to Camp Addie Blaire!!  This year's birthday party was a lot of fun to plan because this girl was set on her theme - camping!  She and I discussed several options, but the one thing that she never forgot (the entire year) was the fact that I said she could have a bunking party.  I really wasn't sure she would remember that conversation but I should have known she doesn't forget a thing!  So a bunking party it was... we had 14 girls that spent the night (under the age of 8!)  I must be crazy!!! - actually my sweet husband said as much when he found out the game plan.  But the smile on AB's face the entire night and next day made it all worthwhile (although it will be a long time before I want to her "mrs. jill" again!)

So welcome to Camp Addie Blaire - I hope you will set up camp with us for a minute.. there is lots on the camp schedule for the day and plenty of photos for evidence!
The birthday girl, ready for the party to start.  I made her this tshirt and she wanted to glam it up a bit so the skirt was all her idea.

Awww, home sweet home for the night!!  Thanks to some family friends we got a major hook up, no tents for these girls only the best!! They had their very own camper with AC (something that my dad taught me a long time ago when we were the only pop up camper in the place with 60 degree temperatures in mid July-my memories are so vivid of how I used to freeze to death every morning in that thing.)  If only I could have found the monkey lights I remember as a kid; anyone that went on a Fowler camping trip will remember them they were a staple at our campsite each year.
The birthday girl helped to pick out the cake.  As you can see she wanted it to look just like her.  We even had the camp fire set up to light later that night!
Unfortunately, the heat had gotten to the cake a bit by the time I took my photos but they did a great job of re-creating what Addie Blaire had asked to have on it.
Smores were on the camp menu for the night as well... anyway you like.  Yummy!

I think the kids definitely preferred the area of the table that allowed them to  make their own trail mix.  I had no idea how much these kids could eat and how creative they could get with their trail mix...

We fired up the grill and daddy served them some good ole fashioned hot dogs (and for those others not used to roughing it we had PB&J)
We even had Tangled set up to play for an after dark activity for all the campers.
A picture with Miss Aimee, the girls' babysitter this summer.  She stayed around to help get the party started.
And then the guests started to arrive - bags in tow.  We were ready for a long night ahead!!!

First stop for everyone seemed to be the camper.  Each girl had to get a chance to check everything out.  They didn't waste anytime...
Bailey, Julia, Lydia, Griffin, AB, Darby, Lydia, Ellie, Payton, Brady, Britann, Lila, Emma and Addison
Each child received a chair to take with them on their travels home. The tags on the chair read "Happy Trails to You! Love, Addie Blaire"
In each chair the kids had their very own scavenger hunt bag for later that evening. (and yes we might have planted a few of the items strategically in our yard that evening... I never said we truly were roughing it that night.
Here a picture of the precious favor tags for the chairs.  Did I mention that I love etsy.com.  It sure does make party planning a whole lot easier!

1st activity of the evening -Swimming!!
Silly faces
Love these two cuties!!!
My sweet birthday girl!
I don't think they have ever been happier than they were swimming with all the big kids.
Bobo on guard in the deep end.  He didn't take his eyes off of the pool the entire time.  I think he was a nervous wreck, but I sure appreciated the help because as you can see their was alot of action going on in that pool.
Britann and Lila took the lead from Pop and they were off and loving it on the slide.

All the kiddos with their treats.

Addison, Bailey, Livi, Lydia, Griffin, Lynlee, and Britann

Mason, Jillian, AB, Addison, Bailey, Livi, and Lydia

A little campfire smores for dessert.  If it hadn't been for the 100 degree temperatures that would have been a great idea! The kids didn't seem to mind it but the adults seemed to bypass on that treat.

Mason and Addie Blaire all covered in chocolate.
Cousin Mason with what else his "mason" jar.  So sweet of him to come down for the party and he was such a sweetie with all the girls.
Scavenger hunt time was a hit, but it didn't seem to take as long as I had imagined on my inner "camp schedule" those kids were off and they had found everything on the list in a matter of minutes!

Addie Blaire and Griffin - he was such sport hanging out with all the ladies.  he and Gavin are quite a fan of camping these days so they were all ready to stay the night but mom had to get back.
All the girls camped out to see the show... well that would be in an ideal world with 6 and 7 year old girls but the reality was that all the girls seemed to have a different movie in mind, they couldn't hear (partly cause no one could quit talking and they couldn't seem to sit still mainly because they were too hyped up after all the smores...so the movie was a little short lived that evening! So much for good intentions!
Little Brit seemed to enjoy the show.

So since the movie didn't quite keep the interest as long as I had planned aunt T came to the rescue and knew just what we needed.. having a teacher in the family has it's advantages.  We had a dance party... what better way to burn off a little energy and sugar all at once. And dance they did.....
Ab showed off some moves never seen before.  The girls each took turns impressing us with their skill (the two little ones had as much fun as the big girls)
Darby, Lydia, Katie Ella, Jillian, Addison, Emma, Livi, Ellie, Payton, AB, Brit and Lila in this photo.
The house was a rocking for quite some time that night and since we burned off the sugar what better time for...
Birthday cake!!
The campfire was all lit now for a little campfire song! Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Payton and AB

My den became a sea of sleeping bags for the evening.  I actually slept of down one of the hallways for the night just in case in campers got a little nervous during the evening!
Rise and shine!!  We all made it through the night without any issues!! Besides the fact that I thought they might never go to sleep!!  All 12 girls stayed the entire night, along with the two 2-year olds in the other room.  Thanks to my sister and mom who stuck it out with us all night!!  I know I will owe each of you big time after this...
Lydia, Jillian, AB, Darby, Lily and Bailey
Their humble abode for the evening.
What is better than donuts in bed!  Oh and an Ipad in the camper (see times really have changed cause wi-fi wasn't around in the good ole days I remember as a camper!! )
AB and Bailey
Ellie, AB, Livi and Payton

The next two pictures are actually from the morning before as Addie Blaire went on a pre party scavenger hunt for her presents from mom and dad and Nana and Pop. I think as you can tell by her face she was pretty surprised.
We got her the easel and Nana and pop hooked her up with a big girl bicycle. We wanted to make sure she had plenty to keep her busy this summer!

Well your time here at Camp Addie Blaire has come to an end.  We hope that you have enjoyed your stay and will come back again real soon. Thanks to each of the girls that made this such a great night. All the girls were so precious and I loved every second of getting to hang out with them for the evening! So here's to next year....
Although from what Mitch is saying he has already booked Chucky Cheese so that may not be happening after all!! Silly daddy... that will never fly with this girl.  She has a mind of her own when it comes to these parties. I think she gets that from her momma. We like to do whatever we can to cause daddy the most stress, it is kinda a hobby of ours!

Happy Trails!!
