Spring 2013

Mother's Day 2013 was a pretty special one for me.  I got to be with all four generations of "ladies" in my life.  I was so glad that my grandmother felt up to the trip to my church to attend our Mother's Day celebration.  (Probably not the best picture we have ever taken but I'm so glad to have it...  I must say now that I am a mom I feel so grateful to have each of these "ladies" to spend not only this day with but each day that I am blessed to have them in my life.
The church did such a great job of decorating everything so cute!  We even got our very own table to eat our tea sandwiches.
Mom, Grandma and myself

I was able to get together with some old friends for dinner one night and it was great to catch up and reminisce.  I must say old friends are still the best friends a girl can have.  I just wish we got to see each other more often I miss just hanging out like this on a whim like we did in high school.
After dinner the girls and I met up with Nana, Aunt T and Lila for Disney on Ice in Little Rock.  This was Britann's first Disney on Ice and I think she approved.  I really enjoyed this one myself because it was all about the princesses  our favorite! (as you can tell I forgot my camera so thanks to my phone we all look a little possessed with our glow in the dark eyes!!)

Popcorn always makes the show better!
The Bobo garden, I wish I could think of something more clever to call it, so if anyone has an ideas please feel free to make suggestions. We have planted our garden and watched it grow.  We are so excited at our house to check it everyday to see what has grown.  We are up to our ears in cucumbers, jalapenos, and very soon tomatoes, cantaloupes and of course watermelons!!  We are becoming very creative in our attempts to can our crops!  I never thought I would say those words "canning" and "my garden" but I must say it has been a great experience and I look forward to adding showing some pictures of our "crop" very soon!
Planting those vegetables is a family affair!
Hanging out with our cousins Max and Mason on their trip to Hope for the evening with Bobo.
My two little cuties! I was so excited to find these cute "watermelon" outfits for the girls for the festival this summer, that is until I got home only to discover that they were actually "Strawberries" oops!  but don't they look precious anyway. we had fun during our little impromptu photo session one afternoon! It is easy to see why I find that these two are my most favoritest buddies to hang out with these days!

Saying cheese while eating not the best idea!
Britann and her buddies from Shonda's.  These little one are the cutest, sweetest bunch and I know she is going to miss them something terrible this summer.  They have the best time going for walks and playing in the yard.
Britann and Kayla best buddies!

AB's school was doing a fundraiser this spring for cookies and pies. Instead she brought home the bacon!!!  This girl is so proud because she sold the most cookies she got herself a big ole' check!
And here it is the $100 this sweet baby won for selling the most cookies!  Maybe we should have signed up for girl scouts after all!
Warrior Dash 2013 was a success or at least we lived no finish times were available by press time for the blog post.  Actually they were but no one will ever know how long it took us!  We had the best time though, and that is really all that matters!
Most of the crew that embarked on this mission with us!  We had the best time doing this with everyone, it made all those not so lovely obstacles so much more fun... well, except for my husband and JD who decided to actually leave us all and really do the race...how much fun is that???
The girls before.....
and the after shot....
Good times!!  The girls even did a little zip lining after it was over, we were really stepping out of my comfort zone on that one!
The girls and I went out to the farm to visit Pop one afternoon and they got to do a little driving.  AB was so excited to say that she got to drive the tractor.  I have several pictures of myself on a tractor with my grandpa when I was young so it makes it pretty special to see my girls doing the same thing.  I can't say I will ever understand the love of farming that Pop seems to have (you know the praying for rain oh wait never mind don't need rain lifestyle) but he seems to be happy doing it now his retirement years.
Headed out to make some rows for harvesting.. I think had to do a little do over later in the day but they can now say they have driven a tractor so we can check that of the to do list for a 5yr. old and 2 yr. old!

By land and now by sea... it's summertime for me and the family!!  (couldn't resist a good rhyme) The first boat trip of the year and now in our new wheels or pontoons I guess.  We are loving our new boat and especially the fact that we can say "daddy go fast and our hair actually blows in the wind" (old boat not so much!)
Since she seemed to do so well in the tractor we decided to just let her escort us around the lake.. check land and by water!!  This kid is really making some "waves" in the driving dept.
Every good navigator needs a good rear view and how cute is that one!!
One night over the weekend while in the spa city the girls went out for ice cream with Bobo and Sharon. I think by the looks of those ice cream cups now I know why they seem to be fond of mommy and daddy going out to dinner these days.
On Sunday, we headed to LR for cousin Mason's 7th birthday.  I can't believe he is that old it just seems like yesterday that he was born.  But seeing him climb all these walls tells me he is no youngster anymore he is like have superman/ monkey going up and down time after time.  Addie Blaire did a great job of jumping right in there and giving it a try.  She really did pretty well for the first time too...I think her favorite part those was the coming down though.
The birthday boy and AB, two pretty cool cats in my book!
Even little Brit got to join in on the fun or at least the refreshments... a wee bit too young to unleash her in that place right now, but give her a couple of years and she will be right there with them both!
This is the last shot I got of the crew from Shonda's before Brit left.  These kids have been so wonderful to her and she adores each one like the "little momma" that she is...we will definitely be missing these guys this summer!
And this last picture is one for my kids to enjoy later in life when they read this (which they better considering the time spent posting!) about their lovely father.  He is a wonderful father, as I have probably mentioned before, loves the girls to no end, very active and involved, but and this is a big one... Mr. fix-it  he is NOT!  We had a nice little leak that started a few weeks back and as it continued to drip until becoming a steady stream from our ceiling vent good old dad decided to investigate.  Well as you can probably tell by the picture the insurance claim for the leak doesn't have anything on the bill for the repair of daddy's handy work!!  Love this guy but next time I would rather not see him as he is hanging from my ceiling!!  (thankfully not injured!)
