80's Party and Watermelon Weekend!

We had a busy weekend, I am so glad that we were able to fit everything in though. It was Watermelon weekend here and the festival was in full swing. I wanted Addie to get the chance to race and I also just like being around to hang out with friends and enjoy some good ole melon!! They are really good this year by the way, so if you are coming through town you should pick one up! We started the weekend by driving up to Little Rock on Friday. We had the pleasure of getting to hang out with cousin Mason this week since Bobo was keeping him for a couple of days. We took him back to Little Rock with us and Aunt Brandee volunteered to watch Addie so that Mitch and I could join in on Terri and Bracy's big 30th bash! I had rounded up a few things at all places Rue 21 had all this 80's stuff. Scary that it is back in style now!! But Mitch however waited til we got to town to round up an outfit and boy did he. Thanks to Savers he was decked out! I was actually impressed with what he came out with and I don't think it cost him but a few dollars to look so good! I attached some pictures from the weekend.

Mitch and I dressed up! It is unfortunate that my big headband didn't show up in the pictures very well. I guess it is hard to deck out though with a growing belly to accentuate!! I finally found a belt big enough to fit around me! I am 34 weeks in the picture by the way. Mitch and his Pac-man tshirt, cutoffs and best of all those shoes and socks. If anyone is interested he said he would cut them a deal on the shoes!

My cute little mom, she just can't look bad, I wish I inherited that trait from her!! My husband will kill me for this picture but, oh well, it was too cute of my mom not to post.

The big 3-0!

The Fowler girls, funny to see pictures of us both pregnant, who would have ever thunk it!

This was the cake for the night, the top is the party invite! It was delicious, I am really craving some sweets these days! I know that most that know me know that is not a big deal cause I always have been a sweets girl, but it is so much worse these days than normal!

Terri, Bracy and their friend Erin blowing out the candles. Loving the blue eye shadow Aunt T, wish I had thought of that.

Here are a few of the party guests!! I will post more pictures once I get permission from Terri. She is not a big fan of me choosing pictures to post without her approval first!! So trust me if I get cleared there are some funny ones on the way!

Addie getting the big pep talk from dad before the race. He ran with her this year since I am not to quick on my feet or anywhere for that matter these days. He didn't know what he was in for I don't think.

She took off quick out of the gates and Mitch said he thought this was going to be a breeze. The race is 1/2 mile for the kiddos.

Just look at that stride, sure to be a runner right.....

um... maybe not so much. She tired out about a few feet from the start and as you can tell so did dad!! They stopped to chat at the half way point, even going as far as to get some water and drink it along the way back. Hey she was already last, why get in a hurry at that point!

Luckily for her there was still someone at the finish line to award her a medal!! She thought that was pretty cool. We have already started our training program for next year. We have a few of you kiddos on the frig as inspiration... not saying any names, Pilkingtons, Luceros, and Ralphs!!

They had some cool little sponges for the kiddos to cool off with after the race. What a great idea considering the blistering 105 degree temperatures!
The best part for all of us after the race is the free watermelon!! Addie ate hers down to the last bite and wanted more. She had it all over her tshirt before it was over. The funniest part though was that Mike Ross (us rep) and Blanche Lincoln were out campaigning and we ran into them and they had there pictures taken with her by their staff.

The day before Angie, Jami and I took the kids to see the sights and we got some cute stuff too! A little hot but well worth it for the strawberry lemonade they have every year!
Saturday night we went to the concert and met the Branch's there. Joe Nichols was in town and he did a great job at putting on a show for us. I have never seen that many people from this little town in one place!! And by the way, we walked right by him coming off his bus and he is quite the hottie!! I didn't realize, nor did I realize I would know so many of his songs.

Addie put on a show of her own back there in the cheap seats with us. She danced until her face was as red as the melons there!!! She also enjoyed the free balls they passed out to all the kids. She and Joe had everyone around us ready to hide for cover, we only received a few dirty looks so all in all a good night!

Thanks Jill for being there for all the birthday fun!! We had a great time and glad you and Mitch could be there to celebrate mine and Bracy's 30th birthdays. Addie looks to HOT for the race! Aunt T says last or not she is a winner!
