October - the month of so many Costumes!!

It seems like every time I turned around this month we needed another costume for something.  What is is with all the spirit weeks, dances and holiday costumes that seems to stress a momma out?  We did have a lot of fun though so I guess it was all worth it!

Pink out day at School, pink hair don't care!
And volleyball season was in full swing.  Proud of this girl for fighting to get on the court, even with over 75 girls going out for the team!
Tiger Tunes fun for the weekend.  We finally got to go after missing last year.  These two enjoyed playing big girls on campus.

Love the tradition we try to keep up each year with the whole family together.

Followed by B's first time to acolyte in the big church.  I was a bit nervous because she hadn't practiced in quite some time, but she did awesome!

How cute is this one?  I just love this kid!
And we even fit in one last tube ride in early October before the lake shut down for the season...as you can tell it didn't slow B down at all.

Witch's Night out with some pretty fun chicks!
And Wizard of Oz with the whole crew to support our #1 Munchkin!  The show was soooo good.
The next week was Homecoming so in typical style these kiddos show their spirit, and everyone could hear it.  Ha!  They screamed and cheered the entire parade route.

The big girls float!

That weeekend AB had her very first 7th grade dance.  The theme this year was luau, which took a bit of hunting on Amazon to find in October.
The kids had a great time hanging out at the McDonagh's before the dance.

Our little girl is growing up!  I can't believe how much she has changed this year and how old she is beginning to look.  Makes this momma's heart sad!  She said the dance was fun and that they basically all just jumped around.  Luckily, she added there were no boy girl dances, whew!  At least that can wait a bit longer.

A little pumpkin carving contest at Klife!
And a cute little Tootsie Roll eating her stash!
Night one of Halloween was spent with a whole bunch of folks at the Country Club for the annual Halloween party.  They eat, play some games, ride on the hayride and go through the spooky haunted house.

The hippies!
The candy hoarding begins!

Night two with friends in Arlington park, and tonight we have a waitress.  The tootsie roll got tired!

Good times, fun times...now on to what we are thankful for next month.

Brit's 9th Birthday!

This little girl brings so much happiness to our world!  We are so excited to celebrate her on her big day!
B and I kicked off her brithday at school  I came to have lunch with she and her friends on stage.
These girls are so silly and I loved watching them at lunch.  They had a dance party and watching all the kids go crazy like that was so much fun.
That weekend we celebrated big.  B choose to go back and re-create a birthday party theme from a few years ago.  She loved her ICEE bday party so much that she wanted to do it again.  So we did and the second time around didn't disappoint.  These girls had an action packed afternoon.
The cake turned out amazing...this was after it had been outside for a bit so the poor icee bear had started to melt.  The woman that did this cake did an awesome job every bit of it was so detailed!

Even the cute cupcakes were in theme!
We even had a few ICEE bears left over from the first party, so we gave them out as prizes this year.

We took these girls tubing until they couldn't tube anymore! Maggie Blakely and Henslee
They played and played on the water.  Luckily, we are in a cove so they had the whole lake to themselves and they tried every water toy we had.

Henslee was a pro on the paddleboat

I think the biggest hit of the party was the water slide we created down the hill.  These girls used this mat with the help of some water and soap and were slip sliding the entire afternoon.  I think a few bathing suits may never be the same.

Mitch even borrowed an ICEE sign from a local gas station so to make the party totally official.
And as you can imagine the hit of the party was the giant ICEES that Mitch got them!

A great day for these girls..so thankful for these friends and the memories made on this 9th birthday!
We found out that B has a birthday twin in our next door neighbor Brett, so we thought it fitting they both get their picture with the ICEE bear!  We are praying for Brett as he is currently fighting lung cancer.  HE is such a precious soul and these girls adore him.  Praying for a speedy recovery, he is currently finishing his chemo treatments!

My cute little volleyball player.  She is ready to give this new sport a shot.  I know this is just the beginning of lots of memories this year.  Can't wait to see what this 9th year holds for this sweet girl!
