goodness... as time goes by I get further and further behind so I may do some brief explanations of this post in order to play catch up. Girls excuse me for being brief but guess what I am still trying to plug away at this things so give me some credit there!!
I put on a Roast and Toast event for work at the Arkansas Convention Center and it was a huge success for the foundation! So proud of the hard work everyone put in to make this such a great fundraiser for our institution. We had several key roasters one being our very own Governor Asa Hutchison and Former Governor Mike Huckabee. They did a great job for the event and the crowd was so glad to have them both in town for the evening.

and as I work each day there are a few things that are never far from my mind...the main two are my kiddos and to get a picture like this from AB's teacher as I plugging away at my desk...well it brings me to tears. I am so proud of the young ladies I am privileged to call mine but no more than at moments like this. This was a young group of kids from Africa that had come to her school to visit and sing for them after the show AB's teacher said she headed straight for this kids and this is what she did. She gave each one of them a hug...in a world where hatred seems to run rampant and people tend to see the bad before the good I am hear to say that as much as she may accomplish each day in class nothing makes me prouder than what she does and how she loves outside the classroom!
and that night at church as I watched a young group of our kiddos make doggie treats to sell in order to donate the proceeds to the local animal shelter again..I feel honored that these girls are being encouraged to give back and make a difference through our church and their school and hopefully at home as well.
Just a little story that my daughter wrote after her trip to the JFK museum during spring break. We had a few errors but to see her retell the story we walked and talked about was pretty cool and something I know she won't forget!
The week after all the crazy event at work was the annual Father/Daughter Dance. These guy was lucky enough to have TWO beautiful dates that evening.

So thankful for a committee of women who care and want to show these girls all the opportunities available in larger areas. I know these are memories that will never be forgotten for all...daddies included!
The day after the dance we headed to Little Rock for a fundraiser we had at Mellow Mushroom restaurant. We were rasiing funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and these kiddos helped out! They were the greeting committee for all those dining that evening and they certainly entertained as you can tell.
Lots of fun was had by these second generation Sigma Nu's....nuette's? Fortunately for my girls all daddies friends have lots of girls to play with in the years to come!
On Sunday because we never can pack in quite enough to the weekends we decided to climb Pinnacle Mountain. I was hoping we would make it to the top but considering most of the family had converse shoes on and no walking gear I wasn't sure but I pushed and sure enough...
WE MADE IT!!! Not without some whining and maybe even a few tears (dad included) but we did it!

And another award for all A's for my big girl...she did it all year long!! Super duper proud...
and then it began..softball season was in full swing...literally1 AB playing in one league and B in another made for some busy evenings.
A week later we were proud to be a part of Team Lee for the Man of the Year this year to follow up Mitch's win last year in memory of their friend David. Mitch and I were Lee's team captains and our team raised an astonishing $68,000 in 10 weeks for Leukemia Research. So proud of this group and all they continue to do in memory of their friend and for all those that continue to battle this horrible disease.

I was privileged to be a part of this year's Leadership Texarkana group. We had 30 individuals that met all year long with a retreat at the beginning of the year and a finale ceremony you see below from our final dinner and awards ceremony in Texarkana. I learned so much about Texarkana and more importantly made 29 new friends I had never met before this program started. So proud of all the projects we completed this year and look forward to working with this group again in the future to advance Texarkana!
