I don't know if this is strange or not but I just can't help but smile as I look back at all these pictures just wishing we could go back and do it all over again. I really don't think I have had this much fun in a really long time but this past fall and holiday season was a blast! We went from one place to another each week and as you know I like to go...but to get to enjoy it with 3 of my very favorite people was perfection! We started October off with my class reunion then headed out that next weekend to Memphis for the weekend. We even got the kids out early to get a jumpstart on the road trip. We met up with the Gentrys and Gigi and Grumpy there for dinner. The reservations were already made or as you can tell by the kids table we might have looked for a babysitter. That much glass in front of these kids is never a good idea! But they did a great job and were rewarded with a sweet treat.
"Big C" (who is by far the coolest guy in Memphis) and I took the kids for a little ice cream after dinner. I posted this pic is because this guy quickly became their favorite thing about Memphis. They still talk about hanging out with Big C and when we will see him next. So glad they had as much fun as we did! That Saturday we got the privilege of going to the Memphis game with friends. Gigi even decked the kids out in gear from head to toe!
see I wasn't kidding...and they even flash which was their favorite part!
checking out the tiger was pretty cool too.. I mean it's no razorback but it will do!
and their favorite part was the view. It is pretty cool to see the action from that high up...but what was better was watching daddy on the field!
These 4 play so well together, they can sit and entertain each other all day.
At half time daddy made his way out onto the field and the kids went wild. He had won a golf tournament the day before and so they recognized their team on the field that day. Pretty cool hearing his name called out and seeing him on the big screen!
Mitch is the second from the right...Gigi and Grumpy well you can't miss them.
Mitch and Chad stayed down on the field most of the game...and apparently took advantage of the perks. Not sure this basketball players name so forgive me but I am pretty sure by their grins that he is something special! I just wanted to see Justin Timberlake but somehow we never made the connection that day..:)
Hanging out after the game with these two fans!
Then back to the house to unwind after a long day! What a great weekend...can't wait til next year to see what they have in store for us.
The next week was Fall festival at the girls' school and AB got sick so it made for a long week for her. She missed out on the festival this year but since it was B's first year I had to go and see what she thought. She loved playing all the games but most of all she loved all the candy!
She even ran into some old friends like Olivia.
Her whole class stopped to pose for a photo, these guys and girls are quite a handful!!
B and her cousin Juju all smiles!!
and Zoe even joined in on the fall fun..haunting houses wherever she goes!!!
That Thursday the kids got out early for fall break so we headed up to Fayetteville for the Razorback game. But not before we did a bucket list item for mom. I went to the drive through zoo as a kid and have been begging to go back but the time is never there when we get to town so this year we did it! And the whole family seemed to enjoy the stop and that is saying something considering how bad dad was ready to get to Fayetteville. We got to meet giraffes,
chimpanzees...who were really entertaining by the way
wolfs,
rabbits
and I even got in on a little slice of the action. This was by far one of the coolest things ever!!
don't pay attention to the sign...he, he. I wasn't really breaking any rules the trainer was with me!
oh and a pot bellied pig and ostrich too!
But I think the all time favorite for us all were the kangaroos. I was so intrigued by all the fun facts I never knew about these creatures that I am sure this lady was ready to run. They were so sweet with the girls, we even got to feed them!
can you see the baby in her pouch? I didn't even know they are 6 months old before they ever come out...crazy I couldn't do it much respect to this gal!
see you can even see that foot hanging out of the pouch..talk about uncomfortable!
then we went for a spin to see what we could find there were zebras,
camels
and more camels! This one was a little too close for me.
but it was a great way to spend the afternoon and having these three with me made it pretty awesome!
We ended up at my friend Renee's house for the weekend and the fun never stopped. This four ladies will wear you down quick. Lots of giggles, lots of squeals and even a few high octave moments in between but I loved every second! Reminds me of a couople of girls I knew many years ago!
The girls and I decided to skip the cold game that day and opted to try out the new Walton museum and the Amazium next door. Luckily we had an expert tour guide the whole day. Loved seeing this place in the autumn it is absolutely breathtaking!
and we even ran into this guy...I mean seriously how real does he look! I was taking all 4 girls to the bathroom when we passed him and I had to stop them from staring! Talk about art... this is a one of a kind!
Bad picture but we had lunch in the museum before the craziness of Amazium that afternoon.
Then we were off and the fun never stopped at this place. I even was jealous of some of the things this kids got to do. That maybe why I pretended to be off looking for them when I ended up in a cool cave or shopping at Walmart!
I would have killed to have a place like this as a kid. I mean this makes playing grocery store in my living room look down right silly!
This place had a little bit of everything for every age. It is a must when you are in Bentonville! we spent the entire afternoon there and still don't do it all. Saving it for next time...
It was a great weekend ended it on Sunday with a stop in Little Rock to see Lila who was recovering from a bad spill on the monkey bars. It appears our family needs to stay away from those things because cousin Max was sporting the same cool accessory the week before from a similar accident! proud of both of them though because they were troopers through the whole thing!
The next week B had a little field trip that turned out to be rather chilly. We did it all but as quicky as possible.
It was so windy and so muddy that the pumpkin patch was more of a pond. But that didn't stop these kids from having a great time.
All loaded up with car seats and all!! So cute to see these kids all piled in!
And so proud of this big girl for all A's her first semester! She is having a great year and I couldn't be more proud of her!
So thankful for the family God has blessed me to be a part of and for the memories I am able to share with my children each and every year. I must say time sure does go by fast but having this blog to remember all these moments makes them last forever!! happy fall ya'll!
