Well I say this alot with all my posts but this may go down as the longest post I have ever done. I believe my blogger days are behind me this is just an all out album. Not that my blogger skills were ever very established to begin with...so here it goes the marathon post if about to begin (if I can ever work up the courage to get it started?)
This year we decided to go to the beach with some friends from Lonoke, the Gentry's. They just so happen to have two of the cutest coolest little boys that my girls just adore. So we were all so excited to get away for a week and the kids were so thrilled to have some buddies for the beach. We all stayed together in a 3 bedroom condo which worked out perfectly with the parents in their own rooms expect for our B visits (pretty much nightly!) and the kiddos had there own room as well. So here it goes....
Day 1 of the beach vacay is under way. The dads have gone to the store and Molly and I have taken the kiddos straight to the beach. They were so excited to get their toes in the sand and we stayed there the rest of the day!
The next day we spent the evening with all the other hundreds of tourists at Lulu's (much to Molly's disapproval) however, the kids had a great time. I caught a lot of heat from everyone for picking resturants based completely on the atmosphere but for everyone that has been there Lulu's is just too much fun. AB was one of the only ones that was brave enough to try this but she was a human gerbil!
So much fun, she tried and tried to stand up but never could get it going.
AB did a great job and was pretty brave throughout the course but luckily she decided to turn around before we got to the top. I must say that didn't disappoint this mom at all! I was ready to come down!
The next day we were back on the beach. We pretty much spent the entire vacation on the beach. Day 3-7 ...Were pretty much all the same we would go out about 11 and stay on the beach til 4 or 5 then head to the lazy river for a spin, the hot tub to finish it off and then back to the room to get ready for dinner.
crazy kids..these four had such a good time together. They just got along so well and kept each other laughing the whole time.
just a little friend that a man next to us on the beach reeled in...I can't believe that I actually swam with a bunch of these scary creatures once up on a time!
Hot Tub..family style
Dinner at the wharf is always one of my favorites..you got it I am a sucker for the atmosphere.
not sure what inspired such interesting faces..but they all look ready for a rumble.
B and I even got the chance to go all by ourselves on the super huge Ferris wheel!! I'm so proud of my big girl she wasn't scared a bit this year!!
My two precious angels!! Seeing this pictures just makes me want to squeeze them right through this computer.
My little beach babe
Ab was flippin crazy about the beach
Time to body surf with help from dad.
In honor of their pop the girls had to feed the sea gulls.
Late afternoon swim and the daddys even got in on the fun. Most mornings were spent on the balcony eating breakfast..we had eggs, bacon, pancakes...and you wanna know the really crazy part...it was all made by me!! So for those that say I never cook here is proof it can be done..not saying I enjoy it but all things are possible.
I like a girl with attitude....
and this girl has plenty to go around!! You talking to me?!!
Later that afternoon we got a rain break for the first time that week and it actually turned out to be quite fun..we met some interesting friends from Alabama that just so happened to have a soundsystem on wheels and they kept us all entertained while we waited. Thanks to my friend Angie who hooked the girls up with these cute coverups.
It just doesn't get any better than this smile!
Day 5 for dinner was spent at The Gulf...one of my new all time favorite spots in Orange Beach. It is so relaxing and FAST for those with kiddos but doesn't lack on my favorite atmosphere. It also has a great gift shop for those that like to shop like I do!
Day 6: My beach bunnies are ready for some fun in the sun!
and then we are ready to eat again..isn't that what vacation is all about. We were either eating or swimming..so my post should have some common reoccurring themes throughout.
Another afternoon swim at the lazy river and slide.
That night the dad's decided on dinner at the The Pink Pony (the mom's had nothing to do with this decision) but at least afterwards we were able to head over to "Hang Out" with only a few thousand other people.
Hangin 10 with this crew.
More fun in the sun...who knew that sea gulls were such fans of Cheetos. The kids were impressed at their ability to catch them mid air even daddy can't do that!
A few pics of me and my girls!
I mean seriously could these two be any cuter? I mean I know I am biased but once again I just want to squeeze them!
Just a few action shots..and a few pics of the casa that we were so thrilled to call home for the week.
Picture compliments of our 7 year olds...and this was on about the 10 take..
I look back at pictures like this and wonder what in the world I told them to do before the pictures were taken??!!!
now that's much better...
My little fam..
B always has to get the last laugh!
Last day on the beach and I don't know who is more sad me or the kiddos?
The lifeguards !! Reminds you of Baywatch doesn't it ! HaHaHa!
This is a picture of what turned out to be one of the kids favorite pastimes on the beach...a game the dads created called bury the jelly fish. The dads would catch the jelly fish in the water and put it in a net and the kids would take over and dig a hole to bury it...sounds pretty gruesome I guess but after the kids all had been stung once or twice they were of the philosophy "take no prisoners, this is war!"
and then there was beach picture time...I know my family dreads this every year but I must say I was so much better this year then ever before. We took all our pictures and the Gentry's in under 15 minutes (did you hear me 15 MINUTES!) and to top it off I didn't even think anything about what we would where so I let the girls pick their own outfits and even Mitch got to pick his own. So I was pretty proud of myself to say the least! I am type A all the way so this is progress people!
these two are definitely daddy's girls!
Like big sister, like little sister...
So farewell beach until next year...but wait we have one more small adventure before beach vacay 2014 is over...
Since we were held up in traffic trying to get out of town on Saturday and were running so late anyways why not extend the vacation for one more day...which is exactly what we did. We made it about 1pm to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS for a one night stay and it was soooo much fun! We started out by the pool where the kids danced and sang to all the dj's tunes and then had a little late lunch poolside. Mrs. Molly and I took advantage of a few free minutes to slip away for a quick massage and then met back up with the kiddos (while the daddy's headed to the casino) to take in a Cirque du soleil. They even had someone in the lobby making balloon animals for all the kids.
Such a cool show!! All of us loved it and the best part for this momma was it was only $40 for all 3 of us. That is a steal if you know much about cirque shows!! (what can I say I am always a sucker for a deal!) This was a picture after the show of the kiddos (right before we were asked to leave because they broke the stanchion they were sitting on ..oopsie! ) this cage was where 3 motorcycles and a female that was being hung from the top of the cage all had just went round and round. It was so fascinating to all the kiddos...a must see for all ages if you are in the area!
and at last this post has come to a close. For all those that stuck with me good for you, and you are probably either my mother or my in-laws!! But that's okay that is exactly what this blog is all about..the very sometimes boring but always fun filled memories of the Bobos! Thanks to the Gentry's for being such great travel companions and to my kiddos for making this momma's week just perfect!!
