Next, we headed to the farm and off to see Pop's brand new pump that was just installed. He is excited about this pump and what it will do to help the crops this year. He is now a retired man!! He has left the world of banking and three piece suits behind and is so excited to move on to crocs and blue jeans (yes, I know they are his favorites though)! I am proud that he seems to be so much more relaxed these days and so happy that now we will hopefully have more opportunities to spend time with him when before he stayed sooo busy. Here we are out on the pump deck checking things out, my mom was too scared to walk out there with us!
We even got to check out all the winter wheat they had planted. My dad tried explaining to AB all that it was used for like cakes, cupcakes and all kinds of her favorite things which is why she was wanting to take some with us when we left. He told her she will have to wait just a little longer for that though!
We started off Saturday morning with a visit from Nana and Pop and a little church Easter Egg hunting and festivities.
Face painting by Ms. Rose was a must.
Pop doing a little negotiating with Brit on the candy consumption!
The girls with the Easter Bunny! Still the prettiest one around! Although it was a bit confusing to them when she told them she would see them later that night... you see she, the Easter Bunny, also doubles as a babysitter by night!! It took a while to sink in with these two!
So proud of herself for sitting still long enough to get the tattoo I think.
A little cake pop walk, Britann was the big winner at this one. She racked up with like 4 cake pops!
Addie Blaire did great too. She was a little confused I think by all the eggs just laying around on the floor. I think she was planning on actually having to look for them but with the rain unfortunately there was really no place to hide them in the Fellowship Hall so it was a free for all for those kiddos!
Nicki and Pop even came for moral support. They are sooo sweet to always be there for the girls!
Nana and Pop were spending Easter day in Little Rock so they came down for Easter eve with the Bobo's. We had a great day of hunting, dieing eggs, and an evening at the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at Hempstead Hall.
Dying eggs can be a bit tricky so it was a good thing we had Nana there to explain all the rules. I think Britann must have forgotten a few of them cause we had some crazy looking eggs!!The Easter bunny did good work this year with a few of their favorite things!
He even left a note for the girls just like last year telling them that he had seen their beautiful eggs and just had to hide them!
And off we went to find those precious eggs.....
and Britann's was in her favorite bowl (where she hides things from mommy)
Then it was time to prepare for church. I tried to explain to them as we rolled their hair that morning about the good ole days when mom was young and Nana would put her and Aunt T's hair in socks to roll, but the worst part was having to SLEEP in them!! I mean looking back now that seems like cruel and UNUSUAL punishment if you ask me!! I would have killed for the rollers we used!Either way the end result was fabulous!!! Two purrrty girls! (just look at those curls!)
Bobo and Sharon went to church with us and and then we went and had the most wonderful lunch with us at the Country Club!
A few family pics, or at least our attempt at it!
The country club had a little Easter egg hunt after lunch and these two racked up. Addie Blaire even won a whole $5 in one of eggs. It is no wonder you see her sprinting around like she is here and little sis didn't do so bad herself. I think she is finally getting the hang of it watch out next year AB!
After church pics! The sun was finally shining!!
These two were pretty proud of themselves about the afternoon snack we were able to round up. We made some Easter cupcakes that were super yummy ( I tried to make my Easter Bunny cake but they weren't having it because of all the coconut!)
I posted this picture because this is one of my newest most favoritest sites to behold. I just love to walk into a room and see these two cuddled up together just hanging out and watching a movie or playing together. I know someone once told me that they would be the greatest gift God gave me to each other and at instances like this I know without a doubt that's true!
My little gymnast is doing so well this year. She is getting better and better each time I watch her. I know that she loves it too which makes it even more fun to get to watch her as she bounces around the gym from one thing to the next. It looks like she has more balance than her dear old mom as well. Those of you that did gymnastics with me growing up will probably agree. One day I will have some stories to share with her about mom's experiences at the gym, and she may just wet her pants because all of them are pretty comical in theme, Olympic gymnast I wasn't!!!
