We ended up at Galveston for our vacation this year, with the beaches in Florida being questionable we cancelled our reservations there and my family decided on several locations with Galveston being the closest. I wish we could have gone to some of the other places but I must say being 28 weeks pregnant that 6 hour drive was great!!! The place I found at the last minute actually turned out to be the best spot on the beach in my opinion because unlike Florida most of the resort s are across the street from the beach and you have to share a public beach with everyone. Our resort was great because it had a private beach and was located directly on the water. We had a few minor room issues being that they gave us the wrong one looking at the parking lot, but with a few conversations from the hormonal pregnant woman they were able to find just the perfect spot for us on the water!! The first day our so it rained which worked out fine because we went to the aquarium and some other indoor locations first. It was a great getaway and I love having all the help with Addie, although it does spoil her a bit!! Next year well be a little different considering we will go from 1 to 3 in a year. I hope that poor child is ready for how her world is about to be changed!!! She came back from the beach though ready for next year, I am so glad she loves the beach as much as the rest of us do.
Addie and Pop hanging out in the waves. She absolutely loves splashing in the waves. I think she would have gone out much further if I would have let her.
This is pretty much how she looks the entire time she is out there, she has a grin from ear to ear!! She really does love the water, she also loves jumping into the waves with a little help from mom and dad.
I know Pop's arms were tired by the end of the day from lifting her up and down each time the waves came in.
I just thought this background was pretty cool. There were some storms out further at sea that day and it made for some cool cloudy weather which was a nice change from this heat! This is pretty much how the beach at our resort was most of the time later in the afternoon, we had the entire area to ourselves which was really nice!
Addie was trying to figure the sand thing out here, it is a little (well actually a lot different than the white sand she is used to in Florida) it is a little more compact!! Mitch says that is an understatement considering he took off the first morning for a run on the beach barefoot because of what he is used to and came back barely able to walk!!
My dad had the great idea to give the seagulls some cheese its one day and boy did they get more than they bargained for!! My sister was freaking out because of her fear of birds (she saw that movie when we were young I think) anyways Addie loved it she wasn't scared a bit she kept coming back for more food and the birds were just circling her the entire time.
Finding seashells with Nana.
We had the best pool for little ones at our place there were two of them and one didn't get deeper than 3 feet and this one in the picture was only 1 foot. It had several water features which Addie was all about!
My little beach babe!
This year since the beach was not quite the same and I was too lazy to go though the effort to take them we took a few from our balcony. I had not taken any pictures of Addie with my belly so my sister got a few cute ones. She is really interested in the growing belly and had even been able to feel her sister kicking several times. She loves to give the baby a kiss everyday, so that is what she is doing here. This is me at 28 weeks. I guess I haven't been as good about updating many pictures of the pregnancy or much info about baby Bobo #2 so I will try to be better about that in the coming weeks!
The family pic of 3, about to be 4 next year! I can't wait.
Addie with her nana and pop!
Daddy's little girl, she has him all wrapped up these days. I don't think I have ever seen him tell her no!!! He said she is so good he doesn't need to, but I think he might be a little too soft cause I seem to find a few instances that could stand a little talking to at the least!
Being silly with her Aunt T. She is a big fan of her these days also. She asks if we are going to see her at least every other day or so. So glad that Terri was feeling well for the most part during the trip I was afraid it might be a rough week for her!
My dad really wanted us to go on the ferry there in Galveston. My parents brought me to the beach there when I was Addie's age and I still remember the picture of my dad holding me on that ferry. So we took a little time to get a picture of she with her Pop and Nana and Dad. Although, we were going to take a picture of my dad and I to compare to the last one and we forgot. Mitch says that after his experience on the ferry that will be the only picture Addie will have of the two of them on one, because he won't be coming back!! He had a great time as you can tell, he had never ridden a ferry but says now he knows why!
Our last day on the beach a little oil had turned up so we spent more time on the sand and less in the water, I guess I am a little paranoid to say the least about it. I love getting sugars from my baby, and these days she is more than willing but only if I am wearing lipstick because she wants to get some on her lips!!
The last night we went to a Greek restaurant where they had a belly dancer. Addie being that she is so shy followed the poor woman all over that restaurant and danced with her the entire time. She even a one point gave her a beaded skirt to wear, which was a little big. She did learn a few moves though. Now if you ask her to belly dance she puts her hands over her head and shakes her hips. She has potential, or at least that is what the belly dancer told me. Oh, to be so proud one day!!!! I actually think there were more cameras out taking pictures of my child than me that night!
She recruited a friend to "shake it" with her.
This is from a super cool ride they had inside the rainforest cafe. It was one of those water rides where you ride though a cave and there are all kinds of cool animals. We did this on the first day and I wasn't sure if Addie would be a little scared or not but she thought it was awesome. Every time the rest of the week we got ready to go eat she wanted to go to the "rainforest place"
These are some pictures from Moody gardens. It is a really neat place with lots of attractions. We went to see the aquarium and were not disappointed at all.
This is a picture from our 4th of July event at our church this year. We came back from the lake just in time. Addie and Griffin loved the fireworks!! As you can probably tell by the expression on her face. They were so excited to get to sit with ms. Mackenzie, who has been there babysitter this summer. She is such a sweet girl and we have been very lucky to have her helping us!
It was so cute I couldn't resist taking a picture of Grif laying in Addie's lap. He layed there most of the night.
Addie and "Grif"
Addie with her two cousins Katie Ella and Lydia.
Mitch somehow got tied into driving the train all night. He literally drove that thing for 2 1/2 hours straight. However, it was partly his on fault that the line for the kids was so long because he was flying around in that thing all over. The kids thought it was awesome as they were bouncing around back there. I did hear a few parents a little concerned about the speed, I just told them I had no idea who that guy was driving that thing!!
