Thanksgiving and Nutcraker...tis the season!

Thanksgiving break gave us lots to be thankful for this year!  I was able to spend the whole week with the girls which was such a blessing as we stayed busy with family and friends.  The weekend started off with watching the girls both perform in Mistletoe Fair in Texarkana.  They both did a great job and B even came up with a  cool new dance move a little drop to the floor splits move in the middle of her dance.  The teacher even said she should have thought of that move...hehehehe!  So proud of how much these two love to perform and the joy they show on stage!

The local crew...hand on hip ..check!
Some of AB's class ready to take the stage!

Look at those lips!  Sh is all sass!
Ab did a great job rocking around that stage
My pictures are not clear at all from that day because my camera went out and i had to rely on mitch's from the back of the audience.  So apologizes kids that is all we got.

The candycane crew..
Afterwards we headed back home to get ready to go the woods!
The girls got their first education on deer cleaning..I did not go!  Not my thing but Mas got a deer so everyone had to go check it out.

The next day we celebrated Pop Powells birthday and a little early thanksgiving with family.  these cousins had a blast!

Pop and Nicki with the grandkinds minus Max and Mas who had already left town.
On Monday we headed to Hot Springs to meet up with Aunt T and nana for some girl time.  We couldn't resist a little ice cream to start things off.

I am now officially June's favorite person...this girl deserved he own cream too!
The next day we decided to try out something new so we went bowling.  What else would a bunch of girls do on a day off?!  The kids had a blast and I showed off my skills from back in the day as well.
we needed a little help to get the ball rolling..

Even Nana gave it a shot...
but, as you can see, only one could dominate the game and well the numbers speak for themselves!

That afternoon we headed back to Arkadelphia for some time at nana's house and spent the afternoon painting some awesome pictures for Christmas.
I was so proud of little B she stuck with it and did such a great job!

The masterpieces were complete... I think these girls have a future!

The girls always enjoy some down time with family and hanging out with my sis in our old rooms with all four girls is kind of, well priceless to me.
We came home Wednesday night to prepare the turkeys for feast the next day...and by turkeys you realize I don't eat much meat so we made the best kind of turkeys..chocolate ones!!

And the next morning we were up and ready for Macy's Thanksgiving Parade...I don't let a Thanksgiving morning go by without this tradition for my kids as we snuggle in pjs drinking hot chocolate just like we did when I was young!
We headed to the Webster house for Thanksgiving day lunch and they made sure we left full of dressing and all the good stuff.

The turkeys were a hit!
Bobo and Sheshe with the grandkids
The whole family...I didn't grow up with quite as big of a crew as this family has with 4 kids, 9 grandkids and tons of great grandkids  these crew is multiplying more and more each year.  Great time with some wonderful people!
Have lunch we headed back to Yellow Creek to hang out with Mas and boy did I get more than I expected.  I told the kids I would go on a hike with them but little did I know it would be more of a climb.  and in my good clothes.  Mas is quite the explorer and the girls had a blast playing in the woods, me I was more worried about seeing a snake.
The night ended with games by the fire.
followed by a little dancing...and wow does Mas have some moves like Jaggar!

That weekend Mitch and I had to be in Little Rock for a 40th birthday bash for a friend so the girls hung out with Nana and Pop.  They appear to have enjoyed themselves to the fullest!

and much to our surprise guess who was back when we returned home!!  This crazy fella!  Stay tuned for more adventures of Ely
The girls had their pictures taken by a local photographer one Saturday and she did a great job but then again she had easy material if you ask mom of course.

The week after Thanksgiving was the day AB had been waiting for months...Nutcracker was finally here.  We practiced late into the night all week for the 4 performances that weekend.  She loved every second of it too.  I don't think sometimes as a parent we realize the things that mean so much to our kids because in the hectic craziness that is our everyday lives it just seems like one more activity to add to the list but seeing her after that last show get so emotional over the finale made me realize I would do it all over again..even giving up those Saturdays (for 10 weeks) to see her that happy again.  She loved meeting new friends and most of all performing on stage.  I can't wait to see what this little mousie has in store for her next year.

She had quite the fan club at each performance.

That Sunday was a full day for her because she also had to acolyte at church then we rushed off for her last performance.  It was her first time to help with communion so she was so excited.

Her present from mom and dad, a beautiful ballerina necklace that she still wears almost every day.

Then the business of December kept right on coming with spirit week at school.  first up was neon day and for some reason these two just glowed!

Tuesday followed with Twinkie day..
oh and little Ely apparently found our candy calendar and helped himself to a peppermint paddy.
Wednesday was tacky tourist...man it got tougher as the week went on.

then I think it was like 80's day or pop star can't really remember (see this is why I should post this stuff much sooner) but by the looks of those skirts that my best guess.

and finished out the week with dress up day...all ready for the Christmas festivities that followed!
