Spring Break...Amazing what you can fit in a Week!

When I look back at some of these posts I can't believe all that we did in the week that we had off but it sure was fun at the time.  I guess that is what is so great about a blog i get to relive the moments that at the time don't seem so significant but looking back you realize just how much fun you were having in the moment.  I hope that my girls will have that same appreciation for the time and love i have put into this blog to make sure all these sweet memories are never forgotten!
The first day of break AB spent at a birthday party while Brit and I went to dinner with the neighbor girls. AB had a blast at this cupcake wars sleepover.  I was so proud of how she jumped right in there with the older girls and loved every second of it.

It was a long night for AB and an early rise.  We showed up at 6:30am to pick her up and make the drive to Hot Springs for the Lk run.  It is a run put on by friends in memory of their daughter so I never want to miss it as long as we are able.  I couldn't believe AB could even try to run after her long night but both girls did great and made it the whole 3.1 miles!
with some help from some friends!

Lila's mile at the end of the race was dedicated to children with disabilities such as Down Syndrome...really sweet moment for those kiddos and parents.

Crossing the finish line with B in tow...she did a great job...so proud of this girl because it was pretty chilly that morning.

That afternoon we got a visit from some friends and so we made the most of our time together and got these kids on some go carts and paddle boats for the afternoon.

The next morning we were back up early headed to Hope for church because the girls had to sing.  We were greeted by Nana and Pop and June who came to hear them.  After church we had lunch at the Tavern in Old Washington State park...which is delicious by the way!
And then walked outside to join in the fun at this year's Jonquil Festival.
B and Olivia enjoying the pretty weather for the first time in days.
Silly girls...even June is starting to act like these older cousins..which is not always a good thing!
That night B had one of her first sleepovers with Mary Benton (who would not let me take her pic) They did great as you can tell by the smiles!
And then the girls and I headed to Little Rock for time with Mason and Max.  We got to hang out with the cousins in the neighborhood and spend the night.
Brit even did a little reading bedtime stories to Max and his neighbor.
The two big kids were sacked out all night. So sweet I heard them giggling til midnight just laughing at all Mason's crazy jokes!
And the next morning Mason took us to his favorite spot the donut shop where his order is on standby.   That kid loves some donuts!  Awesome cameo by cool donut lady!
And then we headed back to Hope picked up dad and were on our way to Dallas by 2pm.  We headed straight to where the girls wanted to go most.  Great Wolf Lodge...I didn't even book til we were almost there...it was that kind of a trip.  But guess what it was one of the best and sometimes those are the most fun.  As soon as the girls were checked in we headed for the water park to meet up with friends.

AB and my friend Faith's daughter, Hope had a great time hanging out and riding the waves together that night. Isn't cool how college friends become lifelong buddies?!

We made it back for the clock tower performance at the end of the night and met up with the Pinner's there.

These girls had so much fun dancing that all my pictures are a little blurry because they never stopped moving at the dance party that night.

And a little ice cream to cool them off before bedtime.
Then the next morning we were at it again!

Dad and I even got in on the action...and some of those slides gave mommy a heart attack!

B did great on the big kid slides.  So proud of how brave she is becoming lately.
Ab and Jillian never stopped all morning from slide to slide..they had to be exhausted.
Headed out after 24 hours of this place mom and dad were ready for a change!

The girls picked the rainforest cafe for a little late lunch and then we headed to downtown Dallas for more fun.
We stayed at the Hyatt that has the big ball everyone sees as they come to town so the girls wanted to get up there as soon as we unpacked.  It was really cool and my first time in it as well so we took advantage and stayed to see the sunset which was worth the wait.

The only photo of the two of us taken by the girls..

And then since it was late and we were tired we decided to eat nearby so thanks to dad the girls got to experience Dick's Last Resort.  I was thankful the waiter took it a little easy on us (for those that don't know this restaurant is famous for the waiters being mean and tacky to the attendees)  AB wasn't so sure about things it kind of freaked her out a bit which made it even funnier.  Here are our hats courtesy of the wait staff.  I love One Direction and I don't know these people someone help me!!
And ours...which were pretty funny too...I promise I don't beat him...well maybe just a little every once and a while.
After dinner we met up with my cousin Collin and his wife and son Charlie at their place.
A little tourist pic from Reunion Tower...
The next day I booked tickets for the girls and I to attend the Broadway performance of the Little Mermaid.  It was amazing!!  I really can't say enough good things about it but I can tell you I have seen many Broadway plays over the years and in New York and this one was one of my favorites.  The actors even swam through the air on cables to give the appearance of being in the water.  It was so fabulous and the girls loved it too!  This was B's first big play and she was ready to go back!

The old theater was beautiful too!
Ready for the show to begin!
That night for dinner we took the girls to one of our favorite local spots in Clyde Warren Park.
We love the restaurant but the atmosphere of the park next to it is great.  That night we lucked out and got to here the symphony in the park as we ate dinner.

Patiently or not so patiently waiting for our table.
But it was all worth it when the food came and they got to try the best macaroni and cheese anywhere!!  Also that appetizer of brussel sprouts is by far my favorite dish of all time.  They include cranberries and nuts...it is so yummy!

An after dinner stroll through the park...before we got in the cab to meet my cousin for ice cream!  And if i forgot to mention this trip was also the girls first experience with Uber drivers in Dallas and let's just say i don't think they will ever forget that!  We had some rather interesting drivers that week.  Some I would not recommend to anyone ever, ever again!! But an experience we lived through luckily!
And what trip wouldn't be complete without a stop by American Girl.  (One that a parent would enjoy I guess) but these girls were promised so we kept that promise unfortunately!  We ate lunch at Grand Luxe before walking over and the dolls even had their own seats at the restaurant.

The dolls even got their ears pierced.  That hair line was a little too long for any of us!

And with that trip complete we headed home to prepare for Easter Sunday with the family.
Saturday morning B and I went to the community egg hunt where she practiced up on her skills for the church hunt the next day.

Then B got to go to her friend Olivia's party for the afternoon.  See I told you the fun never stopped!
And the next morning the girls awoke to a surprise from the Easter bunny just for them.

But the Easter bunny never makes it easy...he left a note at B's door saying to "yell for Addie when she woke up"

And a note for AB telling the girls to play a game of hide and seek with their eggs we had dyed the day before.
The girls found eggs all over the house that lead them straight to their baskets.

And a little Easter cake...

Then we headed to church for an Easter egg hunt before the service that morning.

The girls did quite well...we had candy for days!

Then they passed out crosses they had made to all those in church.

Nana and Pop came to church with us this year and so did Sheshe and Bobo.  So glad to have our families with us to celebrate such a special season.

So thankful that Jesus HAS risen!  For this we should all count our blessing each day...and on this day I am so blessed to call these some of god's greatest blessing on my life.
That night we had one last surprise...our friends the Wilson's were in town so they came over for dinner and we had fun playing a little Pie in the Face before bedtime.

And then just like that it was over and back to the real world we went...but thankful for the amazing memories, giggles and smiles we shared.  Sometimes God's greatest gifts are the ones we are blessed to go through life with each day...and may all our days be so full!
