B Turns 5...putting the art in "pARTy"

It is time to get messy cause and leave it to this little 5 year old to show you how!  It's time for B to put the "art" in pARTy!!  She had no trouble decorating herself for the invitations!

The finished masterpiece was complete so now it was time to roll out the paper for all her friends to join us for some fun.
G came down the day before the party to take the girls to a birthday lunch since she was scheduled to work the day of the party.  I believe a little Amigo Juan party took place that day.
That night we celebrated with friends and had a little Razorback fun!
The day of her birthday and the actual party Aimee stopped by to bring her a gift and wish her happy birthday!
But she was a little preoccupied at the time because Pop had just left her a personal favorite for her bday.  Vienna sausages were on the menu!  Can't believe she loves these things like she does!!!
Then Aimee was on her way back to school and it was time to get the party started!
Pop and Nana arrived early to deliver her present.   A new bike that actually works!  The other one she had would not petal and it is amazing the difference it made when she got on the new one and just took off!  All this time I had been blaming her for her bike troubles and she knew what she was doing afterall.

Then it was party time!!  Each child had their own painting station prepped and ready for their arrival.  I had partnered with the arts council on this party we had purchased at an auction and so they donated the canvas and paint but we didn't go so far as to have the artist come and for good reason because these kids attacked that paint and there was no slowing them down.  I don't think they were quite old enough to appreciate all the fine things I had in mind for those canvas!

A little canvas I bought for all the attendees to put their handprints on so B would have a little keepsake from her big day.

Rice crispy treat paint sticks, marshmallow paint sticks

B picked out her own cake, she even took the cake lady a picture of what she wanted.  She definitely took control of her party and I was glad to let her!  It did turn out super cute though!
unfortunately the really cool 5 that was on top fell off on the drive home...

marshmallows on paint sticks

and more cake pics...why not?!

Each child got a letter for their name they could decorate with stickers or paint or both!
they also got a canvas that we used to decorate with their handprint to make a heart!

girts for all the kiddos to take home!

B and Emerie
let the painting begin...
oh I almost forgot each child had to first decorate their very own apron so that it didn't get any of those cute clothes mess up!  They did a great job being so creative with their ideas, each one very different!

Then they moved on to decorate their intitials next.

Then lastly their canvases..it was supposed to be a fingerprint heart but some ended up looking a wee bit different.  it is hard work trying to take care of all those kiddos needs at one time so the ones I missed might not have had the same idea by the time I got around to them.

The older girls did self portraits that turned out very cute!
Lila seemed to have the hang of it!

Then as you can guess with a bunch of 5 year olds they were done with that and on to the next thing that involved a little  more movement~!

Lola, Olivia, B, Lily and Taylor

and before you knew it we were blowing out the candles on another birthday party gone by!

The finished product, minus the names after the kids were done with it.  A few names didn't show up in pic but we covered that canvas in hands!
Then we chowed down on some yummies!
B, Sheshe and Bobo
I think one or two kiddos had left by the time I got to take a pic but here they are with all their masterpieces!!

B and Mary Benton
Before the party ended these three lovely folks stopped by...Lashonda hasn't missed a party since this little girl was born and she wasn't going to let this one be the one!
B and Katie Ella
Hanging with the cuz afterwards..

AB's work of art...so impressed!
and all the great goodies she got that day  Believe it or not she was so tired after the party she didn't even try to open them.  I think they sat there for two days before she ever did..she loved them but  proof how just some fun with friends is all these kiddos really need the presents are just a bonus!
The next day B celebrated with her buddies at school!
She had a party and Mrs. Nations even got her a precious gift.

Her whole crew!
and B even got to eat her cake too!  Nothing like a multi purpose birthday cake!
Happy Birthday to my precious 5 year old.  I love you to the moon and back.  You make our lives so incredibly interesting and fun!  Love you bunches!
